Extremely well-maintained reputed college.

Placements: It is a government college. In our English Honours 4-year course we generally get a Bachelor's degree and colleges also offer internships in several private and government corporate sectors with various curricular activities after some days of the training process. Overall there is no such placement-related task our college does at this stage of education but it helps to grow our skills so that at a later stage of life we could make it easy to get a job.Our college is affiliated to Calcutta University.

Infrastructure: We have access to Wi-Fi in the department, and our course does not contain lab works but our college has the facilities for other departments. There is also a common library with proper air conditioning. The quality of food is above average. The quality of the hostel is above average. It is located within a 5-minute walk from the college. Our college plays a crucial role in participating in several sports activities.

Faculty: Faculty members are helpful, and they are also well qualified. Their teaching is good enough to acquire the main idea of the topic. The course curriculum is extremely relevant at content writing, journalism sectors, etc. It doesn't make students properly industry-ready but it's an approach of taking steps forward to the goal. The semester exams are partially tough but regular interactions make it easy to get passing marks. The average pass percentage is above 90 percent. We have been given a 4-year course structure. Our department has 4 professors along with two guest lecturers. Overall they are very humble to students in teaching.

Other: I chose this course to engage myself with the literary world. The best thing is that it helps you feel the depth of every possible thing that exists in the world. It gives you a different way of seeing the world with new interpretations. The improvement only needs space. The college atmosphere feels very stressful. So a little more spacious would be preferable.

Come for the education and the vibes.

Placements: Mostly students from the commerce department got recruited and had the opportunity to sit for counselling. It was understandable since arts departments rarely teach job-ready skills to students. Placement was probably the only problem that students face.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure was average and nothing special. The campus provided the absolute basic necessities like standard classrooms with fans but the facilities were outdated. There was no functional Wi-Fi. I am not complaining since I studied Political Science and there wasn't much need for smart boards and stuff like that.

Faculty: I can't complain since it's an arts course. It won't make anyone industry-ready but it made us suitable for professional careers. If you wanted to go into teaching or academia it's perfect. If u wanted to go and do something else like advisory or strategic roles it helps as the base.

Other: I don't think I ever experienced any college fest or any other event that included other colleges or other universities. We were pretty much a very secluded college we did not have that many events.

Placements: The course is B.A. Honors in Sociology. The passing-out batch was 2024. The highest package offered is around 4–5 LPA. The estimated placement percentage is around 40–60%. It includes higher studies, internships, government sectors, and private sectors. Top roles offered include Research Assistant, Social Worker, NGO Coordinator. Also, Field Investigator, HR Executive, Content Writer, and Community Development Officer.

Infrastructure: The Sociology department has well-ventilated classrooms with proper seating arrangements and basic teaching aids like projectors and whiteboards. The college library is stocked with Sociology textbooks, reference books, journals, and newspapers. It supports academic research and assignments. Students also have access to a reading room for self-study. Hostel facilities are available. The canteen is good. Medical facilities are satisfactory. Sports and games facilities are also available. Overall, the experience in the Sociology department is very satisfactory.

Faculty: Teachers in the Sociology department are helpful, approachable, and well-qualified. Most faculty members hold postgraduate degrees. Many have cleared UGC NET, with some having Ph.D. qualifications. They are knowledgeable in their subjects. They explain concepts clearly with practical examples related to society, culture, gender, development, and social change. Teachers also guide students in assignments, research projects, and higher studies preparation. The curriculum covers topics like sociological theories and Indian society.

Other: I have a strong interest in understanding society, human behavior, culture, gender issues, and social change. So I chose this course. Sociology helps in developing critical thinking, analytical, and writing skills. These are useful not only for higher studies but also for competitive exams and social sector careers. The best thing about the course include in-depth understanding of society and global issues. Also supportive and knowledgeable faculty, and strong preparation for higher studies and competitive examinations. I think they should add more practical exposure like as field visits.

Overall, I am satisfied with the college.

Placements: 60% of students got placed in my course. There are no companies because this is just a Hons degree. There are no roles. The package is not offered because students do M.Sc. after B.Sc. Some students go for government jobs. Students did not get internships from my course in companies.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available. It has a good connection. The lab is too good but there is some lack of instruments. Microscopes are not good though AC classrooms are available. The library is fully AC and good for study 2. The hostel is old. It has a historical hostel. Rooms are good. There is a proper water connection. There is no canteen. Indoor games are available. There is a medical hospital. It is 10 minutes far away from the hostel.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Everyone is calm. They are very experienced teachers. Practical classes are amazing with teachers. They are very friendly. Sometimes, they act as a guardian. There is a moderate syllabus. The pass percentage is 50%.

Other: Botany is my favourite subject, so I chose it. Practical classes are held. Saraswati Puja, Holi Utsav, all other programs, and annual sports activities are held.

It's a good college for average students.

Placements: The placement was normal, and the students were placed with an average package of 3 to 4 lacs. The college was also helpful during placements, and the placement cell improved their connection to provide the best placement. The highest package of a student is 10 LPA.

Infrastructure: The college was good and maintained the neat and clean environment. The college provides a big library and classrooms and also a canteen for students. Wi-Fi is there and has proper seating capacity. The labs are very much hi-tech and provide very good facilities to the students.

Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio is 7:12 in 2nd-year economics. Our economics professors are exceptionally talented and knowledgeable, always motivating students to excel. Their passion for teaching and dedication to student success inspire a love for the subject. They motivate us to excel in our careers.
