Good infrastructure and education at reasonable cost. Teachers and seniors are very helpful.

Placements: Jadavpur University had always offered a good placement record, with about 90 percent in most years. Our batch strength was around 86 students. Among them, 71 students opted for jobs, and 56 students got placed. The highest package was around 40 LPA, the lowest was 3.5 LPA, and the average was around 13 LPA-14 LPA. Major recruiters included Texus, Samsung, TCS, etc.

Infrastructure: JU provided good quality education at a reasonable cost, so all equipment in the lab and library was not new, it was quite old. I didn't stay in hostel, so I don't know much about it. The quality was not like a private college hostel, but what should we expect for Rs. 25 per month as a hostel cost.

Faculty: Teachers and seniors were always helpful. I studed my first semester without purchasing any books. I just borrowed books from the library, and seniors provided a drive link with important questions with solutions. The curriculum was relevant according to West Bengal engineering syllabus. The semester exam was easy most questions came from PYQs, and 40 percent was the pass percentage. If you failed any subject you can give supplementary exam to pass that subject. Teaching quality was very good. Seniors and teachers always helped us a lot. Seniors helped us with important topics for exams and placement.

Absolutely satisfied with the placement. Really good infrastructure.

Placements: Placements are very fantastic in this course. If you study well for 4 years you are expected to have multiple job offers with a handsome salary. Roles offered in this course are project manager and site manager. Top recruiting companies are Larsen and Toubro and Ambuja Cement.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is always available on the campus. Labs are also well-maintained by the government. Classrooms are too good with smart classrooms. Hostels are also good with mess facilities having non-vegetarian meals daily. Medical facilities are good. We have an annual sports event U-Turn where you can play every sport you can think of.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They would help you in cracking the GATE exam if you ask them to teach for the GATE exam. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes the student industry-ready. Semester exams are too easy. Pass percentage would be around 95 percent.

Other: I chose this course because I have a dream of being an IES officer in civil engineering. The best thing about this course is that you get a lot of time to prepare for the competitive examination. We have a 10-day annual fest with multiple bands performing on stage.

Placements: At JD Birla Institute, everyone is eligible for a placement, but most of the students pursue an MBA, or they join family businesses, bringing the percentage down around 15-60 percent. The highest package is 9 LPA and the average is 5 LPA-6 LPA. The top recruiting companies include EY, Deloitte, HSBC Bank, and Amazon. In my batch, 100 percent of students got internships at top companies, such as TCS and Exide Industries. Top roles offered are business analyst, financial manager, account manager, HR, marketing, and sales executive.

Infrastructure: It is well regarded for maintaining a corporate-like environment, which is suitable for management studies. Classrooms are air-conditioned with smart boards. A fully automated library with quite a variety of books. Fully equipped computer lab with the latest software and Wi-Fi on campus. There are no official hostels, most students stay in nearby paying guests. The college has a very hygienic canteen. The college has an in-house infirmary. Sports facilities include a badminton court and a recreational area, including table tennis, football, and carrom board. While the college is very compact in terms of area.

Faculty: The faculty at JD Birla is quite good. The teachers here are highly qualified and have quite a lot of experience in teaching. The college follows the New Education Policy (NEP). It includes subjects like digital marketing, Excel, and business analytics. While in practical exposure, students have a 6-week internship, soft skills sessions, and field visits, making them industry-ready. The exams are moderate the papers are set by Jadavpur University and are evaluated by them. The pass percentage is often near 100 percent. The college also requires 60 percent compulsory attendance.

Other: I chose BBA as it is considered one of the top private management institutes in Kolkata. The best things about my course are corporate grooming and an industry-aligned curriculum. Networking areas of improvement are campus-size-limited extracurricular activities.

Academically enriching with excellent research culture and strong faculty reputation.

Placements: 30% of students got placed. 95% of students got internships in museums, archaeology, art, etc., which is very good and competitive for higher studies and co-curricular activities. Content writers, research writers, Ph.D. scholars, academic researchers, civil and government services, political analysts, heritage and cultural management roles, etc.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is there. B.A. courses do not need any labs. Classrooms are good and airy. The campus is huge, so you will remember it and will miss it afterward. The cheapest hostel is probably in the whole world. Food is healthy and clean. There are 3-4 canteens within the campus. Sports like cricket and football, all facilities and pitches are there. Opposite KPC, there is a hospital for medical facilities.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, very qualified, and knowledgeable. In fact, top lecturers, top writers, and professors like Ranabir Chakraborty and others often take classes. Teaching quality is fantastic. Yes, 90% of people pass, but exams are not too difficult if you understand the classes.

Other: I wanted to be a teacher, so I did this course. The knowledge, the network, and campus life. SANSKRITI is the best fest in East India. JUMUN is the best MUN in the East India Circuit. RUHANIYAT and NATYASHASTRA. The campus crowd is huge; in fact, people from different states come here to watch fests, and artists from all over India perform. Bus, metro, and train services are all available. The campus has lots of cheap restaurants, printing shops, and others. Scholarships are available. It’s a whole-round hub of extracurricular activities. Trust me, in whichever field you want to excel, this is a talent hub.

The Metallurgy side of Jadavpur University.

Placements: Jadavpur University have a high reputation for placing students and the campus is one of the most prolific and highly respected colleges around. Most of the students got placed in SAIL, JSW, Tata Steel, etc. If the student is core placed in metallurgy then the average package is between 6 LPA and 12 LPA. The high packages are given to those who are going to a non-core placement. The internship programme is available for students every year.

Infrastructure: The buildings are a bit old but the renovation work is in progress. The Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. The classroom temperature is a bit lower than the outside. The campus also provides a central library for all the department students. The hostel buildings are also very old and the same renovation is going on. The canteen food is good and easy to digest.

Faculty: All the teachers of the campus and especially my department are highly educated from top institutes of India and humanity can be expected from every one of them. The course curriculum is relevant and it gets updated every academic year according to world affairs. The semester exams are like a festival for me. I enjoy it very much. The pass percentage is above 85 percent.

Other: Try to maintain a decent distance from your super seniors who are going to leave the campus soon.

Excellent college to experience true liberal college life along with proper academic progress.

Placements: Placement Cell is weak, especially in Arts and Science sections. Students have to look for external internships, and expectations for placements directly after graduation are not very high. Engineering has better placement compared to Arts and Science.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure needs updation but is good. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus, and there are rich libraries in all departments. Medical facilities are within campus. There is a massive field, basketball court, and other courts for sports. There are a total of 5 canteens, all serving affordable food, and the mess is also okay. Classrooms could be better.

Faculty: Course curriculum could be more relevant to modern times. Teachers and professors are good and helpful, but there is a lack of qualified professors. Faculty is decent. The pass percentage is 40 percent, and semester exams are fairly tough as per the studies. Attendance in classes is necessary, otherwise, examinations will be tough.
