Entry-level and merit-based admissions are available at KLE Society's. Nijalingappa College, depending on the course. For certain courses, students are chosen purely on the basis of their academic standing in their qualifying exam, usually the 10+2 exam, and admissions are made only on the basis of merit. Other courses have a combined merit and entrance exam admissions process, which means that applicants need to be strong academic performers as well as score well on entrance exams like the Consortium of Management Studies, Karnataka (COMED-K) or the Karnataka PGCET (Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test).Merit-based 10 + 2 grades are used to determine admission to some of the best programmes, including B.Sc. Physics, B.Sc. Chemistry, B.Sc. Mathematics, B.Sc. Electronics, B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Microbiology, and B.Sc. Statistics. Exams for admission and portfolio reviews are taken into account for programmes such as B.Sc. Fashion Design and B.Sc. Apparel Design.
