The reporting time for NID DAT will be mentioned in the Admit card, along with gate closing time, and exam timings and date.The candidate needs to report for the DAT Prelims exam at 8 am. The gates of the exam center will close at 9:30 AM (or 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam). The NID DAT exam is conducted in two stages. First, the candidate has to appear in DAT Prelims, and if shortlisted has to appear in DAT Mains.The results of DAT Prelims for B.Des will be declared on April 07, 2026, while results for the M.Des programme will be declared on February 12, 2026.The candidate will be able to check their results by logging into the result portal using their email ID and date of birth. Such candidates who get shortlisted have to next appear in DAT Mains.

The candidate will be given the option to select NID DAT 2026 Exam centres soon after the results of DAT Prelims exam is announced. The test centres will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. In the case of candidates who don't select test cities, the system will automatically allocat test cities based on the availability of seats in respective test centres. The details of the test centre allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the NID DAT 2026 Admit card. On the day of the exam, the candidate had to report to the NID DAT exam centre as per the timings mentioned in the admit card.

The reporting and exam commencement time for NID DAT 2026 will be mentioned in the admit card. The candidate must arrive at the exam centre as per the reporting time.If the candidate is late, there is chance that he or she will not be allowed entry inside the exam center.So, the candidate must start a bit early on exam day, taking into account the traffic situation. Note that exam officials will conduct registration formalities and frisking, etc. befor allowing the candidate inside the exam centre.

The participating institutes of NID DAT 2026 offers B. Des and M.Des courses. The B. Des programme is available at five participating NIDs and has an intake capacity of 425 seats. Meanwhile, the M.Des programme is three NIDs and has a combined intake of 347 seats.Admission to both B. Des and M.Des courses will be through the NID DAT entrance exam. The seat allotment to the above courses wlll be based on respective merit lists which will be prepared considering weighted scores of DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to provide correct and verifiable information during the application process. If the candidate is found to be using incorrect or couterfeir information, his or her candidature could be cancelled at any stage of the admission process. Further, if the candidate tries to influence, either directly or indirectly, to influence the management or employees, then also the candidate could be disqualfiied.Note that the NID DAT 2024 counseling will have a document verification process. During this stage, all the information and documents furnished by the candidate will be cross-checked.

The National Institute of Design (NID) will conduct the DAT Mains exam separately for the B. Des and M.Des programs.The M.Des DAT Mains will be held in the last week of March 2026. The National Institute of Design will release the detailed program-wise schedule for the Studio Test and Personal Interview on its admission portal.The DAT Mains exam for the B. Des program will be conducted from April to May 2026. The DAT Mains exam for the B. Des program comprises a Studio Test.Meanwhile, the DAT Mains for the M.Des programme comprises a Studio Test and Interview.The final results of NID DAT 2026 will be declared by considering the performance of the candidate in the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

The NID DAT application form 2024 is currently open online at admissions.nid.edu. The National Institute of Design (NID) has also released the admission handbooks for the B.Des and M.Des program.The admission handbook contains key details pertaining to eligibility criteria, application process, fee, eligibility criteria, reservation, seat matrix, and much more.So, it is recommended that the candidate carefully goes through the NID DAT 2024 admission handbook before filling out the application form.Note that NID 2024 application edit window will be open from December 5-7, 2023. However, the candidate will be allowed to edit only a handful of information.

The NIFT and NID DAT are different entrance exams. Also, while the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) released an official syllabus for the NIFT entrance exam, the National Institute of Design (NID) doesn’t release any official syllabus.So, the only option for the NID aspirant is to consult previous years’ papers and sample test papers to get an idea regarding the types of questions that may be asked in the NID DAT 2024 exam.And no, the NIFT 2024 syllabus cannot be relied on to prepare for the NID DAT exam. The candidate may refer to the NIFT syllabus only to further their knowledge.
