NID DAT 2026 (Mains) exam for the B. Des programme will be held in the last week of April 2026. The timings for the DAT Mains exam will be mentioned in the NID DAT 2026 admit card. Candidates need to reach the DAT Mains exam centre as per the timings given in the admit card. 

On exam day, you need to bring with you the NID that 2023 admit card and a valid photo ID proof. No candidate will be allowed inside the NID DAT 2023 exam venue unless they carry these documents.
The list of documents accepted for ID proof will be mentioned on the admit card. Typically, the candidate may carry Aadhaar card, driving license, and passport, as ID proof. But do ensure that the ID proofs are valid.

The NID DAT 2026 admit card will carry the following like the application number, Candidate's name, Roll number, Date of birth, Name of the course applied for admission, Reporting time for exam, Date of exam, Exam duration, GATE closing time, Test center code, NID DAT test centre address, Photograph, and Signature. Additionally, it will also contain the Dos and Donts for candidates inside the exam venue. On the day of the NID DAT exam, the candidate needs to report at the exam center as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit card. Candidates arriving at the exam after the exam has commence may not be allowed entry inside the exam venue.

If you find that the spelling of your name is not correct on your NID (National Identity Card) admit card, you should immediately contact the relevant authorities and inform them of the mistake. You can contact the NID office or the concerned department and explain the situation. They may ask you to provide your correct name spelling and may request you to submit an application with a photocopy of your original identity documents. Once your application is processed and your identity is verified, they will issue you a corrected NID admit card with the correct spelling of your name. It's important to take immediate action because if you appear for the exam with the incorrect name, it could cause issues during the verification process, and you may be denied entry to the exam.

The NID that exam is conducted in two stages - that Prelims and that Mains. Candidates who qualify that Prelims has to next appear in that Mains. The shortlisting for that Mains is done on the basis of scores obtained by candidates in the that Prelims exam. The that Prelims scorecard, along with section-wise scores, also contains the qualifying status of the candidate. Candidates who status says "qualified" can appear in that Mains.

NID DAT Mains 2026 exam for the M.Des programme will be conducted in the first week of March 2026. Meanwhile, DAT Mains for the B. Des program will be conducted from last week of April 2026. Candidates who have qualified DAT Prelims are eligible to appear in DAT Mains. The DAT Mains exam for the B. Des programme will include a Studio Test. However, the dat Mains for the M.Des course also include an interview apart from the Studio Test.The merit list of NID DAT will be prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

The NID DAT Mains 2023 exam for the B. Des programme was conducted in the following cities - Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Gandhinagar, Kolkata & Kurukshetra. The candidate was given the option to select the exam city between April 3 (4 pm) to April 5 (4 pm). The details of the exam centre, including name and address and reporting time were mentioned on the NID DAT 2023 admit card. The NID DAT 2023 (Prelims) exam was conducted in 22 cities across India. The candidate had to select their choice of exam centre at the time of filling out the NID DAT 2023 application form.

The FINAL results for the B.Des program will be declared in the third week of May 2026, while final results for the M.Des program will be announced in the first week of May 2026.The merit lists will be released at the time of declaration of results. The lists will be prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. Also, the merit list will be considered for seat allotment.
