Diploma in Management Skills - Batch of 2024
4.2
Good job based learning exposure .
Placements: Placement begin before the examinations start. So, New Delhi YMCA did indeed bring in placement opportunities for students of PG Diploma in Office Management course. But, till now, the companies that have been offered to the students are average—not so good but not so bad as well. The top recruiting company that has come till now is VFS Global. Other than that, several more companies are recruiting for internships and job postings like front office, stenographer, customer service representative, IP Associate, etc. Only one student has been placed till now. The average package offered range from Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 per month.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are well lit, with enough space to accommodate enough students that take admissions at YMCA for this course. YMCA has a common library at GATE-2. It has a good collection of books that are helpful for case studies and building an in-depth understanding of the course lessons. The Wi-Fi password is not open for student use.
Faculty: The best thing about YMCA is that it has a great faculty of teachers. It is what makes YMCA stand out from the rest of the schools, colleges and institutes. As teachers know you by name, they give equal attention to each student and encourage them to perform better. Teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Another best part of the institute is that you do not have tons of text books to mug up for studies. Teachers teach in classrooms through moral lectures or via presentations. They provide you with all the materials for study. Once you build interest in the subject, there's a library where you'll get all the books that could help you understand concepts in a much more detailed manner. Teachers even recommend case studies to students and if you are interested in reading them, you can do it online or from the library. The course curriculum is updated based on the current job sector needs and requirements. It makes us feel a little more ready to work in the industry. Like, we have mock panel interview sessions to get an idea and to prepare us for job interviews. The teacher also gives us feedback, which helps us understand the areas on which we have to work.
Other: I chose this course to get first-hand learning experience of skills that are required in the job sectors. The best thing about the course was that I got to relearn the learning process. As in, I got to learn about management subjects in such a way that I could implement those things in real life and improve my interpersonal relations with people, speak more confidently, etc. The things that I wish would be better or improved about the course is that we used to only get 2 period for practicing typing in a week. I wish we had more classes where we could practice typing to increase our speed. YMCA has several events happening around the year. One of the main events that takes place is their carnival, where Fashion Designing course students hold Fashion show showcasing their work, They have several competitions, food stalls, game stalls, clothing and accessories stalls, and different amusement rides for students to enjoy.

It is a great institute. You will get exposed to new things and so much knowledge.
Placements: The institute has a 100% placement guarantee, but the placement I was getting is not good for me. Because of the current COVID situation, placements offers are very low, and some are not suitable for me. So I did not get any placement. Institute did not try much for helping students with placement assistance.
Infrastructure: The institute is well-furnished. Classrooms are smart, and it has its own library which is very good for study-related problems. Our college provides computer labs for courses related to computer needs. The canteen is not good, and the food served is very costly and not tasty. It has a volleyball court, but we do not play much. There is a swimming pool, but we cannot swim in it, and for that, you have to take a swimming course.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are great. Teachers help us understand the core subjects, and they are not like I had teachers before in school who do not care or give attention to us. Our teachers are knowledgeable. They had so much experience in the field that they helped us to understand the subject. The course curriculum is relevant to us, and we had 2 semesters. The pass percentage is 33% out of 100%.
Other: I have chosen this course because my big brother told me to choose this course. I had a very great experience here. I get to connect with such great teachers and friends here. I think there should be the addition of some new topics in the curriculum, but it was great. Our college organised a fest named Umang, and it was very fun and wonderful.

PG Diploma in Marketing and Sales Management - Batch of 2015

Absolutely love the place and best time enjoyed while learning.
Placements: PGDMS is a valuable course one should definitely pursue this if you want to make career in marketing and sales. Almost all my batch mates are employed in different MNCs. You can easily expect a package of 2.5 lpa to 12 lpa depending upon the individual capabilities. Top recruiting companies are Audi, Nielsen, Asian paints etc.
Infrastructure: A large library with all the essential content and resources are available on individual request. Also, fully air-conditioned classes and computer labs are there. You can enjoy different sports facilities like volleyball, basketball, gym and swimming pool. Canteen is really nice surrounded with beautiful gardens.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are guest facilities from industry facilitating with abundant of knowledge and really helpful in providing professional guidance. Project work, internships, presentation skills, report writing etc. The curriculum of the course in well balanced between educational & professional experience.
Other: Different events keeps happening throughout the year and travel trips.

Placements are not that good. Rest everything is fine.
Placements: 7% is the placement rate, i.e. around 10-11 students got placed. No package was offered by the institute. Asian Paints, Oppo, ITC, Taj, etc. were some of the claimed top recruiting companies. 0% students got internship. The major roles were warehouse executive/manager, digital marketing, retail and manufacturing.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi was not available. Lift and stairs were available. Labs and classrooms were clean and comfortable. Excellent food was available in the canteen, hygiene and other things were completely taken care of. Medical facilities were available whenever required.
Faculty: Teachers were 100% helpful, they were well-qualified and their teaching quality was excellent. Every teacher was expert in his/her subject and did have mind-blowing experience. The curriculum was relevant and it did make students industry ready.

I am satisfied with the institute's efforts during this pandemic and experience in the institution.
Placements: There are maximum 35-40 students in a batch. The lowest salary package offered is 80,000-1 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is 5-6 LPA. Bata, Axis Bank, Asian Paints, Wipro, etc., are some top recruiting companies for our course. Almost 85-90% of the students got an internship from our course. Top roles offered to the students are manager, recruiter and trainee roles.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are huge in which 100 students can sit and clearly hear the voice of the teacher. Environment and washrooms are very neat and clean. There is a garden, library, auditorium, gym and swimming pool. Quality of the facilities is average.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, experienced, very helpful and encouraging. The teaching style is also unique and interesting. They are very helpful during the lockdown period and taught us in a way that we are able to understand every chapter and topic easily. The course makes 90% of the students industry-ready.

New Delhi YMCA is an amazing place to go and study.
Placements: Because of recession and lockdown not many students were recruited but overall the placement cell of New Delhi YMCA is quite good. There is still room for improvement in the placement cell of New Delhi YMCA although the college offers students lots of opportunities via internship but when it comes to final placement that's where it needs improvement.
Infrastructure: The department had very good infrastructure but the thing that stood out was the department's concern for hygiene and cleanliness. The library pf New Delhi YMCA is one of the best. It has a lot of books which come in very handy. The college also has a swimming pool, basketball court, tennis court so the students can also engage in sports activities.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are very helpful and are well versed with the subject knowledge. The teachers cared and gave attention to all the students equally. Their main goal was not to impart bookish language onto students instead they shared their experiences in the corporate world which is immensely helpful.
Other: The college could conduct more events if they could.

Our college has good administration.
Placements: The college offers a wide variety of courses, and the enrollment of students was quite average. The course in which I enrolled had a strength of about 30 students, who belong to different courses. Since we had certain subjects in common, so the strength of the class was never accurate. I am not sure regarding the placement opportunities because I had just finished the course in December 2019 and by the time results were out, the pandemic had taken a toll, and no further discussions were made for placement. However, I know a few companies that visited the campus to hire were Barclay's, Axis Bank, Bloomroom Hotel, etc. Internship opportunities were quite limited. Most offers were for fashion designing and hotel management students. The priority for business management students was between below average. I had an internship for about 2 months with oavne of the finest hotel group which was Bloomroom at Connaught Place itself.
Infrastructure: We were taught through the medium of whiteboards, PowerPoint presentations via projectors connected in support with laptops. Wi-Fi wasn't provided to students only teachers had access to it. There were no labs required for the course. The library was made available and accessible at any point of time. Classrooms were well-occupied with space along with air conditioning provided. For ventilation, there were windows and exit staircases in terms of emergency. I never used the hostel facilities because I was a day scholar. But I had my friends who stayed there, and they had mentioned that apart from food rest everything was reasonable. On a personal note, I never preferred food from the canteen, so I am unaware of it. There were not any particularly mentioned medical facilities. The college had a great name for extracurricular activities, especially into sports and dance.
Faculty: Faculty members appointed in our college had real-life experiences in the subjects they taught. It was great exposure to us since we learned from the books by understanding how the concepts were actually useful practically. They had their qualifications from reputed colleges and universities. I admire some teachers for the way they taught. I even still have a connection established with them. The course curriculum was updated and relevant as per the dynamic changes that take place in the environment. Not all subjects gave exposure to the industry, but it was to some extent.
Other: I opted this for completing a dual degree in two courses. I pursued a PG diploma in business management and certificate course in human resource management at the same time of my academic year. The campus had a low life as not everyone was open enough to talk. Everyone had their groups of 4 to 6 people and enjoyed their ways. Events and programs did happen, and even competitions were conducted.

It was really good for improving skills, knowledge, and experience. I recommended.
Placements: Many of my batchmates got internships after completion in companies like Accenture, SpiceJet, etc. I got a chance to work with NIIT after that as well, with the help of YMCA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good. We also had a library, gym, swimming pool, etc., to keep students engaged and active despite their studies.
Faculty: Teachers were very good, qualified, skilled, and experienced. The subjects were relevant. Since I studied management there, it was a good addition to my knowledge.
Other: I was interested in learning management skills for any business or organisation, which is why I enrolled in this course. Everything was good at that time, and now, five years later, I think they must have upgraded themselves even more, so it is recommended from my end to new folks. The campus was good, and the crowd was good at that time. I completed my 12th in 2019 and joined the YMCA Diploma in Management Skills the same year. It was a good one-year journey with the YMCA. Their management staff and teachers were amazingly supportive, and the overall environment was good. Overall, it was a good experience and recommended for those who had just passed 12th standard and were looking to add some value to their educational qualification while doing SOL or online graduation.
