Formerly known as DOEACC Society, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Shillong, is the 12th centre of NIELIT institutions in the country and 6th in North-East India. It became operational in 2010 and offers approximately 15 short-term and long-term courses. The training facility of NIELIT Shillong has an intake capacity of about 300 students at a time. The centre has trained over 7800 number of students in various courses to date.
NIELIT Shillong Admission Process 2021
The admission for short-term courses is open throughout the year whereas for long-term courses, the admission is conducted twice in a year (January & July). The admission process for these programmes is mentioned below:

NIELIT Admission 2021: Short-term Certificate Courses
The duration of the BCC course is 36 hours and the rest of the short-term certificate courses are of 80 hours' duration. NIELIT Shillong accepts admission of 25 students per batch in each programme. NIELIT Shillong Admission 2021: Long-term Courses
The long-term courses offered by NIELIT Shillong are of one-year duration. The student intake in each programme is 25 per batch. NIELIT Shillong Application Process 2021
Candidates can apply online through the student portal of NIELIT (https://student.nielit.gov.in/). The step-wise application process is elaborated below:
- Click on 'new user' and create an account using E-mail ID and contact number
- Upload photograph and scanned images of signature and left-hand thumb impression (up to 50KB)
- Enter personal details and corresponding address details
- Pay the application fee of Rs 500 and click on 'submit'

Candidate must have an Aadhar card while filling the application form. In the absence of Aadhar, the candidate may submit the following official IDs:
- Enrolment number of UIDAI (EID)

NIELIT Shillong Scholarships 2021
NIELIT offers Protsahan Puraskar Scheme (erstwhile Scholarship Scheme) for SC/ST/physically handicapped and female students pursuing NIELIT O/A/B/C level courses.
Eligibility for the scholarship:
