NITTE University offers fellowships of INR 20,000 per month to meritorious PhD candidates as per the university guidelines. The fellowships are offered based on merit list prepared as per the entrance exam score.
Students who do not qualify for the fellowship but meet the admission requirements will also be offered admission without the fellowship.
Candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 to apply for NITTE Institute of Communication UG courses. The minimum aggregate to apply for UG programmes is 50%. Hence, aspirants with 60% in Class 12 can get admission provided they also meet other specified criteria.
Candidates who have passed Class 12 or its equivalent with at least 50% aggregate and English as one of the subjects can apply for NITTE Institute of Communication BA (Hons) programme. Aspirants should also have completed 17 years of age as on Dec 31 of the admission year. Aspirants must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission.

NITTE Institute of Communication admissions are both merit and entrance-based. The institute shortlists candidates based on their merit in the last qualifying exam for BA (Hons). The selection for PhD courses is based on an online entrance test conducted by NITTE University. Selected aspirants are further required to come for a personal interview round.
NITTE University conducts an entrance test for admission to PhD courses of NICO. The Online Entrance Test of 75 minutes duration will consist of 70 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 1 mark each including 35 MCQs from the General Research Aptitude and Analytical Thinking and 35 MCQs from the Faculty/ discipline opted by the candidate.
