B.Sc. in Microbiology - Batch of 2025
4.2

The college has a nice climate and a calm campus, so I like it. It is a nice college.
Placements: Students who have scored above 90% in Plus Two are eligible to study Microbiology at Pazhassiraja College, Pulpally. This college was the first in Kerala to offer Microbiology, making it the best college to study microbiology. They also offer an M.Sc. in Microbiology.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided by our college are very nice. There is an amazing library for reading. A big microbiology lab is available. The UG lab and PG lab are useful. The lab facilities are one thing that inspired me to join the college. The hostel service is good, but the food is bad.
Faculty: The microbiology teachers are helpful and qualified. They provide detailed lectures for both study and lab classes. However, some subject teachers are not responsible in their jobs. Because, my biochemistry teacher does not give lectures every time and always tells us to go to the library to refer to and study on our own.

B.Sc. in Biochemistry - Batch of 2023

I am satisfied with the teachers.
Placements: I am a biochemistry student, so there are no placements available for my program. There are placements for the travel and tourism and BBA departments, and these placements are decent. For life science students, internships are provided at reputable organizations for project work. There is an industrial visit for each department every second year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Pazhassiraja College is good though. There is a Wi-Fi connection for most of the departments. Classrooms are also quite good. In library, they provide most of the books for each department. The library is also good. Foods are available in the canteen.
Faculty: Teachers of biochem are too good. Teachers are helpful and they are qualified. We have model exams which makes it easy to prepare for our semester exam. The laboratory provided are also nice. The internal exams are done regularly. That's about it.
Other: This college comes under Calicut university. So taking a degree will be worth it. And most of the departments are good but for biochemistry, there are fewer students but the teachers. Their teaching skills are good. There are events and fests.

Pazhassiraja College is situated in Wayanad district, Kerala.
Placements: College provides placement in different companies. They approach companies for placements. Many students get placement and also get very high packages. Many students get more than 5 Lacs package. College asks students, if students don't want placement, the college does not make placements. But if only one student wants placement, the college also tries for placement.
Infrastructure: The college boasts a well-maintained infrastructure with modern facilities including well-equipped labs, spacious classrooms, a well-stocked library, and reliable Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the campus, providing a conducive learning environment for students; however, some areas might need further improvement, like dedicated sports facilities or updated equipment in certain labs depending on the specific needs of the program.
Faculty: The college faculty is generally considered to be highly knowledgeable, supportive, and dedicated to student learning. They provide a strong academic foundation through engaging lectures, accessible office hours, and a willingness to guide students beyond the curriculum, fostering a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their interests.
Other: Food Science course is very rare and full of scope. I chose it because it is applicable to the daily life of a human being. I love to test the food materials and focus on the adulteration, food poisoning, etc. It leads to consumer trust and confidence. I believe that I can save human lives without any adulteration in food.

Dissatisfied with all-rounder.
Placements: I didn't see any of my seniors getting placements in my college. In my college, they don't have college placement. There is a 0% placement rate and no companies. The average post that we get after the course is salesman. The average package is about 2L per annum.
Infrastructure: We have a lot of Wi-Fi in our college, but they never give us direct access to it. We have a library, but it only has academic books. They never buy any self-development books. We have an average class that has a screen to take slides. We have a canteen that doesn't provide any lunch food. Medical facilities are poor.
Faculty: We have pretty nice teachers. They have good teaching techniques and usually take classes with simplified notes and slides. After the class, they give notes. The university is developing the exam system because now we have exams on time. We need 30% to pass the exam.
Other: I would like to improve the events and the part which is the seminar. They conduct seminars only for internal marks. It is meant for the development of our presentation skills.

Average satisfaction, though faculty is good.
Placements: Placement is not offered in this course. The salary packages are also not good. Internships are also offered in this course. This course offers jobs like quality control, quality assurance, etc. The number of students is lower. An internship is very helpful.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in our classroom is good. WiFi facilities and the library are also good. But our college offers very few medical facilities. The lab facilities are good, but there are some problems. The hostel's facilities are also excellent. The canteen provides good food.
Faculty: A few teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. Most of them prefer digital modes of teaching. Semester exams are delayed. Teachers are good at teaching. Their classes are effective. But the problem is that they are not permanent. Exams are delayed because studying is difficult.
Other: This course offers several opportunities. But the semester exams are delayed here.

Our college has good ambiance, but I am not satisfied with its placements.
Placements: I don't know about the overall placements, but B.Sc. microbiology has no placements here. I think no good placements are available. We didn't get any salary packages. I don't know about the companies that offer recruitment. I heard students talking about internships, but I haven't done yet.
Infrastructure: Well-established laboratory facilities are available. Medium quality food at a reasonable price is available in the canteen. Wi-Fi is available in certain areas but not accessible in every nook and corner of the campus. Study materials, books, and novels are available in the library.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly to students, so we can seek any help from them. They are very supportive of academics and other extracurricular activities if we show interest. Semester exams are not that hard to get pass marks. However, study notes are not provided by every teacher, sometimes, we have to refer to the library or Google.
