The PG College of Law at Osmania University is generally seen to be a second-tier law school in India. It is not included in what can be called the first tier (other such members being the NLSIU Bangalore and NALSAR Hyderabad), which instead are at the top national law university status, highly funded, and globally recognized. The situation of the PG College is, however, rather strong regionally, with quality legal education backed by Osmania University and its historical stature. It has its share of good students enrolling in the BA LLB and LLM programs, has good placement records (INR 4–12 LPA), and has good and experienced faculty. When it comes to infrastructure development and research output, the performance is just satisfactory and yet far from tier one standards. This means that it is supposed to be one of the better options in the Telangana region apart from NALSAR, hence regarded as an upper-level tier 2 institution, admiringly regarded for its economy and its connectivity with the local legal fraternity.
