B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics - Batch of 2024

The placement scenario is not that good.
Placements: B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics in my college is basically an academic course. We don't get placement offers after completing this, but we will get the benefits of this course if we enroll in higher studies. Many classmates of mine friends got enrolled in higher studies. Many of my college graduates are doing M.Sc in various NITs and IITs.
Infrastructure: The library is available. Computer and physics labs are present and are well-maintained. There is also a canteen inside the college campus. The canteen provides very good quality food at a very cheap price. Free Wi-Fi is also present inside the college campus.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and very helpful. B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics is a very good course to choose. Many of my seniors are doing PhD in various universities across the country. Some students are appointed in different private as well as government sectors. Semester exams are not that tough, and we need 4 grade points out of 10 to pass.
Other: I chose the B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics course because of my interest in Physics. The best thing about my course is that it is not that costly, and we can prepare for other exams alongside. We can also get a scholarship if we have a great percentage in our course. I got an Ishan Uday scholarship of Rs. 54,000 per year for 3 years.

Good faculty members, no placements, and average infrastructure.
Placements: College does not have a placement program in place. There is no recruitment for the course. Though they offer internship opportunities. These internships focus on enhancing communication and leadership skills and promote teamwork among students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average. Labs and classrooms are moderate. Library is well established, having both physical and digital resources. Boys hostel is not provided, though girls hostel is provided. Since I am a boy I have no concern for the hostel. Canteen is good but it has a low medical facility.
Faculty: The course teachers are qualified and have good teaching quality. Although some of them have a little low-quality teaching. They ensure students are ready for their higher studies. Semester exams are mid-difficult having a pass percentage of 40%.
Other: Classrooms and labs should have been a little better. College also has some extracurricular activities.

Review of Rangia College.
Placements: Around 96 students got placed in our batch out of 100 students. The average salary package offered was 2 LPA.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel for boys on campus. Wi-Fi is available but it is not for students, only teachers can use it. The food served in the canteen is good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. Our course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are hard. The pass percentage is 62%.

It is not a top tier college.
Placements: Approximately 35-40 spots for a major subject. No offers come to this college only some trail coaching centers come and it doesn't help students. No company comes to give offers hence no roles students will get. Students will get just a certificate.
Infrastructure: In this college, Wi-Fi, a library, and a laboratory were also provided. There was a hostel for only girls. There were no medical facilities or basic medical facilities. Sports facilities were available but not good, and it was very basic. The food served in the canteen was good.
Faculty: Teachers were very good and knowledgeable. Teaching quality was good enough. But it needs to be digitalized. They still teach with that old lecture method. The course curriculum was relevant. But it doesn't make students industry-ready as it lacks groundwork.
Other: I opted for this course just to achieve the degree certificate. In the end, I got that only. It needs to give practical knowledge about gardening and other skills.

I am satisfied because of the teaching, curriculum and good study source.
Placements: An average of 75% of the students got placed in our college. Students are academically very good. In our course, The fee charged is approximately Rs. 5,000, which we have to pay per year, and it consists of two semesters. Moreover, we got the NSS certificate by doing participating in it.
Infrastructure: Facilities in our college are very good in case of indoor-outdoor games and for studies also. Classrooms have an air-conditioned facility. For the science stream, many laboratories are available. There is a conference room in our department.
Faculty: Teachers of our department are very honest and talented, and 80% of our teachers have a doctorate degree. They teach us very kindly. They have more teaching experience from various sources. They are very hardworking and honest. In the covid pandemic, they are taking our classes online.

Good faculty and supportive environment, decent infrastructure for Botany.
Placements: In the B.Sc. Botany programme at Rangia College, formal campus placements were not conducted; however, a few students secured internships that enhanced their practical and research skills. While no the highest, the lowest, or average salary packages were applicable for the course, students gained exposure to roles such as research assistance, laboratory work, and field-based projects through independent arranged opportunities. The majority of graduates opted for higher studies in reputed universities, building a strong foundation for academic and professional growth.
Infrastructure: In this college, Wi? Fi, a library, and a laboratory were also provided. There was a hostel for only girls. There were no medical facilities or basic medical facilities. Sports facilities were available but average, and it was very basic. The food served in the canteen was good. ?
Faculty: The B.Sc. Botany programme at Rangia College is taught by well-qualified and supportive faculty, ensuring good teaching quality. The Gauhati University? Prescribed curriculum is academically strong but more research-oriented than industry-focused. Semester exams are of moderate difficult, with a pass percentage of about 90?95%. .

Rangia College. Not the best.
Placements: There was no placement system, so you had to find a job by yourself. And the worst part was no one gave you a job with that degree. Overall, you studied only if you wanted to learn something. If you were expecting to be hired, you should have tried another college. I don't think there was anyone who got placed.
Infrastructure: The classrooms were pretty beautiful, and labs were in good condition. If you asked me what the best thing about the college was, I would say the library. Since there was no boys' hostel in our college, I didn't know about the hostel. The canteen was private, so it was clean and the food was very good.
Faculty: Teachers were very friendly. They were like friends to us. They tried to keep the course very simple, and I think they succeeded as well. If I talk about the semester exam, the exams they organized were very fair. I mean, they put 3–4 teachers in one hall, so students couldn’t cheat.
Other: I would say I joined this course because I heard it was good at this college. I won’t say it was the best, but I think I learned a lot from this college. The only problem I think this college had was the staff. I mean, they were very arrogant. They should have respected students. They acted like students were laborers working for them.
