All facilities of S.C.D. Government College are good.
Placements: Placements of S.C.D. Government College, Ludhiana, is nice compared with other colleges in Ludhiana. Around 85-90 percent of students from our courses got placed through campus recruitment. The placement cell is quite active and provides regular training sessions, mock interviews, aptitude classes, and resume-building workshops, which help students perform confidently during placements. Nearly 60-70 percent of students secured internships during their courses. Internships are offered by so many famous companies. Top roles offered to students from my course are software developer, web developer, data analytics (entry level), system engineer, technical support, and business analyst (junior role).
Infrastructure: Very nice facilities are provided to students, such as big and clean classrooms and nice teachers. In my BCA course, the college provides a separate PC (computer) to every student in the lab, and all computers are properly updated with the latest versions and with a high-speed Wi-Fi network. Hostel of S.C.D. Government College, Ludhiana, is also very nice, with a good quality of food and clean rooms, including beds and more amenities. The canteen of this college is very nice and clean. Medical facilities are also very good. Sports and games are very popular in this college.
Faculty: Teachers in this college are very nice and helpful. They are properly qualified and knowledgeable to teach students. My personal experience with teachers is excellent. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams in this college aren't that difficult because teachers complete the syllabus on time and students who have attended classes properly have learned everything.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest to learn web development. According to me, the best things in my course are subjects of this course because all subjects are important to learn everything about web development and many other skills used in software development. According to me, there is nothing to improve about my course because everything is perfect. Events and fests are organised every year. The campus is very large, so it never looks congested when it has a crowd. The campus is very large with sports grounds, etc. Scholarship process and extracurricular activities are also nice.

S.C.D. Government College: pay less learn more.
Placements: My course started with 67 students. The highest package for my course was 5 LPA, while the lowest was 3 LPA. Almost all the students got internships. Only a few of them were able to get paid internships. Roles such as professor and assistant professor were offered for our course.
Infrastructure: The college offers proper facilities for the students who choose to live in their hostels. The entire campus is furnished with Wi-Fi and has projects in a tiered classroom. Both the college and the hostel have a library of their own. The library at the hostel is open 24/7 for students to study.
Faculty: The faculty is very nice and is always willing to help you with your queries and problems. All the teachers have PhDs and are qualified enough. The curriculum is great, and it makes you industry-ready. Almost 95% of students pass the semester exams easily.
Other: This course allowed me to gain knowledge and become a professor to teach at any college I wish. The course could focus more on the Science side. The college is famous for its events and fests.

Good infrastructure, not satisfied with placements.
Placements: I am not very satisfied with placements. In my course duration, very less amount of students have gotten placements. We can't rely on college for our placements. Every student has to make sure to find an internship on their own, if they want to get a job.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is good except canteen. The canteen is not hygienic and the canteen area is overcrowded every time. There is no proper arrangement of fans in the canteen. However, classrooms and library are well-maintained and have proper ventilation.
Faculty: Faculty is good and exams are taken with responsibility. All the staff is well-educated and understanding. The mentors are very helpful and supportive. Even semester exams are less difficult compared to old semester exams but we can not take them slightly.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Batch of 2023

I am very much satisfied because of the college infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: After B.A., you can try giving government exams like UPSC and other exams because the subjects selected in B.A. offer a wide knowledge, such as subjects like history, geography, public administration, political science, and many more. They are beneficial for government exams.
Infrastructure: Good course, and the hostel is also good. The hostel provides all necessities which are required by the students, like hot water, separate rooms, and activities like a gym, a library, a canteen, and labs. The quality of the hostel is very good, and even the mess food is good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and well-qualified. Teachers help weak students and inspire them to attend the lectures, and also guide them about what to do or choose in the future to become successful. Semester examinations are neither as tough nor as easy.

I'm satisfied with the campus and connectivity.
Placements: 80% of students got internships from the course I pursued. It provides a wide range of opportunities in teaching and also in the field of computer science. One can be recruited by companies like Microsoft, Google, and various software companies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of labs, library, and classrooms is appreciated and well-designed. Also, the hostel is well-cleaned and maintained. The food available is neat and clean and also very delicious. Also, the apparatus in the laboratories are working properly.
Faculty: All teachers are well-qualified in my course bachelor of science. The ease of the semester depends on one's potential for hard work and the percentage to pass the exams is 33%. This course helps the students to be ready for the industry for working.
Other: I chose a bachelor of science because I aimed to study and work in computer science field. Events and fest in the college are organized properly.

B.Sc. in Non Medical - Batch of 2025

Satisfied with faculty members but not by placement cell.
Placements: In our batch, no one got placed. Yet college has a placement cell but it has not seen any activity by them in the past three years. Don't know much about seniors but in my course and in my batch, no company comes for placement, not even the local companies.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is above average. Since it is 105 years old college, some departments are not so good but the newly built departments are nice. Library is big, and reading room is also very comfortable. Most classrooms have smart classes.
Faculty: Teachers are very supportive, well-qualified, and experienced. They always try to complete the syllabus before exams. But the course B.Sc. non M.Ed is not that much relevant because in this course more you get is theoretical knowledge and less practical knowledge. I would recommend to document diploma instead of B.Sc non medical.
