Sakthi Mariamman Engineering College is a very good college.
Placements: Sakthi Mariamman Engineering College is one of the more reputed placement colleges. All these college students got placements in good companies in 2021. There are some additional placement charges collected by this college. The student's salary package is 4–8 LPA.
Infrastructure: This college infrastructure is very awesome. The classrooms are very comfortable. Multiple laboratories and libraries are also available at this college. Boys and girls have separate hotels here at this college. Hostel foods are more hygienic. Some sports fields are also here at this college.
Faculty: Our college faculty members are more qualified and experienced. They arrange industry visit programs every semester. They conduct more model exams. Our department staff are very friendly. So all students studied very well and scored good marks.
Other: This college conducts more cultural events every year. This college has more courses. This college transportation facility is good. Canteen facilities are also here at this college.

It is a good college to study, and I gained knowledge here and also enjoyed a lot.
Placements: The college has a good placement cell for regular students. But there are very few opportunities for part-time students. Most of the part-time students search for a job on their own. Most of the students got placed after the course in top companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is moderate. The library is huge, and foreign author books are also available. Hostel facilities are good. Sports are encouraged. The canteen food is average. The classrooms are well maintained, and the labs have sufficient equipment.
Faculty: The teachers are good and knowledgeable enough to teach every subject. The course makes students understand the depth of subjects. Semesters are conducted in a well-disciplined manner. The internal assessments are conducted at the month-end, and lab exams are conducted well before.

100% dissatisfied due to lack of faculty and environment.
Placements: No placements will be provided, and nowadays there is no proper teaching is giving due to lack of staffs because salaries are not settled. If there is an inspection, they will arrange temporary staffs. Even they haven't given the balance amount to the students who need to be settled.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is incomplete. There is not a proper road, no proper ground for playing and hygienic canteen is not available. Still, now there is no development, and the building which was built is still incomplete, and there is no proper environment in the hostel.
Faculty: There is lack of faculty, and nowadays education is not properly taught due to lack of staffs. Most of the staffs have relocated to other colleges. Some of the courses are closed, and they opened CBSE school because they are not able to run the college successfully and even some courses had been closed due to lack of students.
Other: Events and tours won't happen in the college. The last symposium was organised in 2016. Even sports and annual will not be here. The last annual day and sports days were organised in 2012.

The worst college with no campus interview, no lab facility and bad teaching.
Placements: The placements will be conducted but it is not from the reputed MNCs as only BPO companies will come for placements, even Adyar Student Xerox also will come for the placements and if they select the students in that college, they will make a big banner for that and they even put that as a very proud moment in the newspapers.
Infrastructure: The lab facilities are average but not high-tech. It is the worst in conducting sports, and no cultural activities will be conducted inside the campus. The worst food will be provided by the canteen. The hostel facilities are also the worst, but the classrooms will be cleaned every day.
Faculty: 90 percent faculty members are the worst but other than that, some of them will be very good in teaching and they really come for teaching purposes. The lab faculty members are the worst as they do not know anything about computers but they will teach what is a computer. We have all the courses but no students.

Other: SMEC is improving a lot nowadays in the respect of its infrastructure, faculty, and food at the hostel. Good place to learn and enjoy. Even the placements are really good. Many companies visit for campus interviews and if any student is not placed they arrange an alumni meet to help the student get placed. This program has been started effectively from this year.

Other: Goods: They are growing at a good pace. During my time they had no placements, but now they have a few. Good bus facility. Bad: The college atmosphere is really bad. Food won't be good. Hostel facilities are not good. Lecturers are not friendly nor do they teach practically. Infrastructure is not good. One has to walk 2 kilometres from public bus stop to the college. No extra-curricular activities are encouraged and no proper sports facilities are available. No proper funds for symposiums.
