Sha-Shib Flying Academy was established in 2009 and is a part of Sha-Shib Group of Institutions. Over 14 institutes fall under the umbrella of Sha-Shib Group. The Institute is located at Guna Airport and governed by the Institute of Management and Technologies. It is approved by the DGCA, Government of India.

The Institute offers Private Pilot License (PPL), Commercial Pilot License (CPL), Assistant Flight Instructor Rating (AFIR), Flight Instructor Rating (FIR) and R/CF courses.

Sha-Shib Flying Academy Guna Admission Process

Sha-Shib Flying Academy admission process is held four times in a year, based on the availability of seats. Interested candidates can apply for admission in offline mode. Candidates willing to pursue any of the courses offered by SFA are required to appear for a written test followed by Personal Interview (PI) round conducted by the Institute. Some of the fast facts related to Sha-Shib Flying Academy admission process are mentioned below:

• Final selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the selection process (written test and PI)
• The minimum age limit to pursue PPL is 17 years and FIR is 20 years
• For admission to CPL, AFIR and R/CF, the minimum age limit is 18 years
• Candidates need to take the medical test conducted by a DGCA-approved medical examiner
• Candidates also need to produce the police verification document if applying for PPL, CPL or R/CF programme
• For admission to PPL course, candidates should hold SPL license
• For CPL training, SPL/PPL license is required
• Candidates planning to pursue CPL training course are required to qualify FRTOL and RT license exam and score pass marks in all five papers, as per the DGCA norms

Sha-Shib Flying Academy Guna Courses

Sha-Shib Flying Academy offers PPL, CPL, AFIR, FIR and R/CF courses. The duration of PPL is four months and CPL is 18-24 months. The duration of PPL differs depending on the flying hours.

• AFIR Course
  • The validity of AFIR license is 12 months
  • The required minimum flying hours as a PIC are 100
  • CPL is required to pursue AFIR
• FIR Course
  • The duration of FIR is 25 working days
  • A minimum of 300-hour of instructional flying is required with 20 hours by night (20 take-offs and 20 landings)
  • Candidates need to take skill test by day and night
  • The validity of FIR license is 12 months
• R/CF Course
  • Ground refresher on technical/performance with qualified AME/examiner is required to pursue this course
  • A valid PPL/CPL of ICAO contracting state is also required
• CPL Course
  • A minimum of 200 flying hours are required to pursue CPL
• PPL
  • In PPL training, candidates get 40 hours of flying as per the DGCA norms

Sha-Shib Flying Academy Placements

The Institute has a training and placement cell, but placements are not good. Although, meritorious do get hired as pilots for Sha-Shib Flying Academy’s Charter Division, as per the requirement.
