B.Sc. in Chemistry - Batch of 2024

Sree Narayana College, Kollam, is where most students of the Kollam district choose.
Placements: The highest score in our batch was 9.65 CGPA. Our course provides a good opportunity to become a chemist. It offers jobs in government laboratories and the titanium and water authority. Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd, Chavara of Kollam district, provides more vacancies for Chemistry students as quality chemist, analytical chemist, production chemist, etc. Arkema, Cipla, Asian Paints, TCS, Infosys, Tata Chemicals, etc., are some of the top recruiting companies for Chemistry graduates. Top roles offered in our course include research scientist, analytical chemist, forensic scientist, etc.
Infrastructure: My chemistry department has 3 classrooms, 2 laboratories, and 1 seminar hall. Classrooms are spacious, which provides a smart class setup. Wi-Fi facilities are also available. Labs are provided with good quality materials and have much space for each student to do their experiments. There are a lot of hostels. The food quality is good. It provides good rooms and toilets. Our college canteen has a very good variety of food, which is worth it and fills our stomachs. Our college faculty members provide more support to sports and games. They give maximum training to talented students.
Faculty: The Chemistry department has very good teachers who are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They are very helpful at labs. They took online and offline classes to complete their portions and clear all our doubts without any hesitation. This course will provide a fabulous future to students because so many opportunities are there in India and foreign countries. Semester exams are easy and sometimes hard. It depends on questions. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: I got good marks in Chemistry in my 12th, and I also like to do experiments in the laboratory, which looks very attractive, so I chose it. I felt more attractive with each laboratory experiment. It should provide more lab equipment, which will be useful for students to do experiments. Our college allows us to celebrate all kinds of events such as Youth festival, Holi, Onam, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Ethnic Day, etc. Our college has a lot of Horegallu's for students to improve their friendships and connections. College provides the best vibe for students. Our college provides all kinds of scholarships for students, such as e-grantz, golden jubilee scholarship, etc. It provides all kinds of infrastructure, such as a gym, a huge ground, seminar halls, an auditorium, etc.

Review of Sree Narayana College, Kollam.
Placements: The placements of this college are very good. Top companies like ICICI Bank, Johnson & Johnson, and so on come for recruitment. They provide high-level roles as research scientists, quantitative developers, etc. Almost 90% students can get M.Sc. and nearly 70% of them secure internships.
Infrastructure: Overall, the college campus is decent enough. Equipment and other materials used here are quite average. Wi-Fi is available here, and the classrooms are very good. The canteen produces food of high quality and taste. The hostels are good enough, and the library is very helpful.
Faculty: The teachers and mentors are very friendly and cooperative here. They help students in nearly everything and break down concepts at a ground level. The course curriculum is very relevant in that way. It prepares students for further challenges in life. Although the course can feel a bit challenging at times.

B.A. in Sanskrit(Vedanda) - Batch of 2026

Strong academy, limited placement, great campus, and teaching with more career opportunities.
Placements: In my course, 20%-30% students got placed through campus. The package maybe the highest 4-5 LPA, then an average 3-4 LPA, and the lowest generally 2 LPA. The top recruiting companies in my course school, coaching centre, culture institutes. 20% of students got internships in big companies, for example, culture, organized, schools, research project, top roles, course offered teaching assistant, language trainer, transitor, and administrative jobs
Infrastructure: In my department, an average maintained classroom ,and basic facilities like benches, a fan, and a blackboard, Wi-Fi, a library etc. The hostel facilities are decent rooms, average cleanliness, and weekly maintenance. The hostel food is poor, of low quality. The food in the canteen is of good hygiene. The college medical facilities access first aid and basic medical facilities for emergency students referring hospital in Kollam is the hospital near Kollam, then sports and games. There is a large playground and good sports facilities, courts for football, cricket, and indoor games.
Faculty: Teachers are of good quality, very helpful, and well-qualified in my department. Teachers are friendly, so I can learn easily. The curriculum designed by the University of Kerala covers Sanskrit literature. Academically strong and relevant for higher studies like M.A. NET, etc. They do not directly make students industry-ready instead prepare teaching, translation, and research. The exam is very difficult, but our students will attend every class and prepare well. Many students struggle because the pass percentage is above 80-85%.
Other: I like Sanskrit because here India's culture heritage. Department teacher is supportive and has good knowledge, and the curriculum is strong for planning to pursue M.A. NET, JRF, or civil service. The areas for improvement in the course include more practical and exposure, like translation, internship, digital sanskrit tools for better career guidance, and a tie-up with an institution has helped. Events and festivals, arts, cultural programs we celebrate, the campus crowd, and the surrounding area are friendly, the crowd of students is a different vibe, well-connected by road and railway in Kollam, making it easy for students. Scholarships are for SC, ST, and OBC.

M.Sc. in Mathematics - Batch of 2024

5Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
This is the best college for the M.Sc. Mathematics course.
Placements: Almost 95% of the students obtained M.Sc. degrees. The highest salary offered was 22 LPA, the lowest was 5 LPA, and the average salary was 15 LPA. Top recruiters include Johnson & Johnson, ICICI Bank, ISRO, and many others. They offer high-level roles such as quantitative developer, research scientist, etc. Additionally, 76% of students secured internships.
Infrastructure: Equipment and materials used here are average. While the classrooms are good, the labs are not up to the mark. Hostel rooms, medical facilities, and sports and recreational amenities are satisfactory. Our college hosts tournaments in football, cricket, and other sports. Overall, the facilities are good, with a balance of educational and recreational activities offered.
Faculty: Professors are very supportive, knowledgeable, and well-educated. The teaching methods are excellent, and the effectiveness of instruction is due to the high motivation of the teachers. The curriculum is appropriate and undoubtedly prepares students for the professional environment. Semester exams are challenging, and the pass rate exceeds 54%.

B.Sc. in Zoology - Batch of 2028

Good atmosphere and good teachers.
Placements: It is a really good college. B.Sc. Zoology department has a wide range of good lecturers, just feel free to ask about your doubts. It has a SFI union unit only. Many internships are available in this course. Friendly approach of teachers is the best part of the college itself.
Infrastructure: College has a very good infrastructure and has vast area of campus. It has six buildings, and also has canteen in itself. Toilets are not clean and sanitised, while others are impressive. Only has a girls hostel. Hostel is nearly 1 KM away from the college ( approximately 900 meters). Food in that hostel is really bad and the atmosphere is not really clean. Other is rats in their kitchen and water is also not clean.
Faculty: Teachers are really good. They really help in studying and provide notes and printouts to study. This curriculum actually describes animals human kinds, chordates, and non-chordates. Exams are moderate to highly tough. Everything is okay about the course.
Other: Surroundings are really good and clean. Toilets are worse. Every scholarship is available.

Review of Sree Narayana College.
Placements: There were no significant packages offered, but admissions were based on three criteria: management, merit, and community quota. While there were no specific recruiting companies, job fair programs were conducted. Only 20% of students got internships, with companies like Chungath Jewellery and others. Practical sessions were useful.
Infrastructure: The classrooms were good but need further development. Wi-Fi was only available for teachers. The library was well-maintained, with a wide collection of books and study materials. Hostel facilities, including food and accommodation, were not great; I would rate the food quality in the mess and canteen 6 out of 10. There were limited sports and medical facilities.
Faculty: Teachers were qualified and helpful, though the main drawback was their fast teaching pace. I would rate the faculty 8 out of 10. The course curriculum was relevant, and the practical sessions were useful for real-life applications. Exams were not very difficult, and questions were direct, making it easy to answer if the syllabus was properly covered. The pass percentage is above 38%.
Other: I chose this course because I enjoy the science field and practical work. The knowledge gained about animals is really useful in real life. More practical sessions should be introduced in the course. Connectivity and scholarships were not very good, but the campus events and festivals were really enjoyable.
