The 4 new NDA recommendations of Doon Defence Dreamers were reported from multiple SSB and AFSB boards, reflecting performance across different centres rather than a single location. The recommendations came from Army SSB boards such as Allahabad and Bhopal, along with Air Force Selection Boards (AFSB) including Dehradun and Mysuru. This spread across boards highlights that the selections were achieved under varied testing environments, covering both SSB and AFSB formats, and not limited to one specific board or batch.

To be acceptable, candidates for the Army/Navy/Naval Academy and Air Force are required to secure qualifying marks separately in written exam and SSB. Candidates for the Air Force,  and all the SSB qualified candidates as per their willingness, eligibility and preference for flying branch of Air Force, should separately qualify the CPSS.

The CDS selection process consists of two stages: a written exam and an SSB interview. All candidates who qualify for the written exam are required to register themselves online on the Indian Army Recruiting within two weeks of the announcement of the written test result. After that, candidates are allotted SSB dates and centres.The SSB procedure has two-stage selection process—stage I and stage II. Only those candidates who clear stage I are permitted to appear for stage II. Stage I comprises Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception Description Tests (PP&DT). Stage II Comprises of an interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the conference.
