St. Francis Institute of Technology accepts the GATE score for its M.Tech courses. GATE is the entrance exam applied to judge the candidates in different engineering disciplines for the majority of M.Tech courses at SFIT. Unless and until a candidate has a valid GATE score, they are not eligible for counseling and allotment of seats. Besides the score, the candidates with valid GATE scores get priority in admission. The St. Francis Institute of Technology (SFIT) can't provide 100% placement for all its students. Though the college maintains an excellent record of placement and most of the students got employed by high-profile companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Capgemini, and Cognizant, the average percentage of students getting employment is always in the range of 60-70% of the total B.Tech batch. The highest offered in the last pack was of INR 12 LPA and many students have managed an offer in INR 4-6 LPA range. The IT and Computer Engineering branch does face a lot of preference in placements. However, opportunities are available to all, if there is a good performance and skillset.

The best course at St. Francis Institute of Technology (SFIT) is basically according to the student's interest. Among all these, Computer Engineering and IT are the most competitive as well as sought after courses. These branches have a good placement record, too, with top companies like TCS, Capgemini, and Cognizant recruiting students graduating from here. Students from these departments receive more attractive packages than others. In addition to this, the industry is highly in need of IT professionals, so these courses are in demand. But the course is also quite good for Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (EXTC) because it provides them with proper technical exposure.
