It is a great law college in Pune.

Placements: Symbiosis International Institute itself is a great college with individual branches for different fields. Symbiosis Law School Pune, being one of them, is a great law college with a strong alumni base and other opportunities like moot courts, etc.

Infrastructure: Symbiosis Institute of Law, which is in Viman Nagar, Pune, is a great college offering top-class facilities. Infrastructure ranging from well-stocked libraries and journals to a well-maintained ICT lab, which offers great online research resources even if not in college.

Faculty: Symbiosis Law School Pune holds a great legacy of 77 long years, as first established by Majumdar Sir. Thus, it has some great experienced professionals who teach in the best way possible, making the study of law and understanding much easier for us students.

One of the best law colleges in the country.

Placements: College being the best helps its students get some really great internships at some really great firms across the country. It gives them some really good opportunities to explore the legal field. Eventually helps them in grabbing some really good placements.

Infrastructure: SLS Pune provides students with best need and possible infrastructure, like vast seating and reading halls, libraries with some really good reading and research materials of law and other genres. Lastly but not least, a really good gym and health centers.

Faculty: Being one of the oldest law colleges of the country, it brings with it. It's a legacy of providing students with some great teaching professionals in the legal field. They are experts in different sectors of law, and have years of experience in teaching. They make it more easy to understand.

The college name is good, but the college itself is not.

Placements: Top companies do come and recruit people every year, but only a few get selected from a batch of 450 students. They have an erroneous criterion of minimum GPA. Even if a person is highly skilled, with a low GPA, they can't sit in the placements.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is bad. There are no good air conditioning or coolers, making it quite hot during the day. Additionally, health facilities are basic and bad, as they only provide general medications like Calpol without proper care. There are extra charges for consultations with specialists.

Faculty: Faculty, though very helpful and good, sometimes have differences, but that's okay. The curriculum is really very hectic, and the deadlines given are very close, leaving almost no time for ourselves throughout the semester or for other self-development activities. We have 11 subjects in the 4th semester.

Q: How to apply for LLM in Symbiosis?

Symbiosis International University (SIU) conducts the Symbiosis Law School All India Admission Test for admission to the LLM course every year. To apply for SLS entrance exam, candidates must have cleared five-year of three-year LLB degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 45% aggregate in case of General category candidate.

For candidates belonging to SC or ST category, the minimum required percentage is 40%. Also, the candidates whose LLB results are awaited can register for the entrance test. Provided, they will have to submit their passing certificate at the time of admission to the university.

Pretty decent private law college in Pune.

Placements: Our college, being one of the best in the country, provides its students with one of the best placement opportunities from tier 1 and 2 law firms, with pretty decent packages. Offers of in house counsels and bank legal team offers also come. College also helps in getting good internships.

Infrastructure: College also provides its students with one of the best possible infrastructures, including some really big reading halls and well-equipped libraries. Libraries have some great reference books. It provides a good health care centre with free services and well-equipped gyms too.

Faculty: College has a long history since its establishment. They hold a legacy of giving some really great legal minds in the country. They have some great teaching professionals. Some have experience of more than 20 years, making teaching very easy and interesting.

Good college, but needs placement.

Placements: No good placement, not so good packages, though the highest salary package was 37 LPA. Lowest salary package was something around 6 LPA. Top companies do come, but they take only a few people. Though most of the students secure good internship either on their own or through our placement cell.

Infrastructure: Hostel is bad, or I would say worse. Food and water are not at all hygienic. And sometimes there are also bugs found near the water cooler. College infrastructure is good, but lacks AC, thus it can be very hot sometimes. Though other things like computer lab and library are great.

Faculty: Faculty is great and helpful, but sometimes there are differences between teachers and students. Though they are easily resolved by student welfare committees. Curriculum is very hectic, and often we get really little time to do anything else or focus on self-development, extra facts.

Q: What is the selection criteria for the LLB course offered at SLS Pune?

Symbiosis Law School (SLS) Pune offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Diploma level courses to its students with the admission to the latter being done on the basis of merit in the qualifying exams. Based on the scores attained in the entrance examinations conducted by the college, students for UG and PG levels are given admissions. The two exams are Symbiosis All India Admission Test (AIAT) and Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT).
