Techno Main Salt Lake: An average tier-3 private college in Kolkata.
Placements: In ECE about 70 percent of students got placed through campus placement. There are mainly IT-based companies coming to this college. The average package you can expect is 7 LPA. If you are targeting core ECE companies, you may suffer. If you are looking for an internship you have to struggle on your own.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are average, they don't have an air-conditioner. They teach on a whiteboard (marker one). This college doesn't have its own hostel you have to live in a PG or rented apartment. The college building is still under construction. This college has only one building and nothing more than that.
Faculty: Faculty are good at their work but they mostly talk in their regional language. The curriculum is average according to today's market demand. Semesters are pretty tough. About 40 percent of students got back in each semester. If you think you will study a night before the exam and get marks then you are in delusion.
Other: Events are bad. This college doesn't have a campus at all, they are taking 7 lakhs and providing only 1 acre of the total college area. In which there are 2 colleges one is Techno Main Salt Lake and another is Techno India University.

All about my college, TMSL Kolkata.
Placements: Honestly speaking, college placements are decent if you are preparing well for the upcoming placement drives and if you are maintaining a good CGPA. The average package lies close to 4-5 LPA in the B.Tech CSE branch. The rest you have to prepare well. Almost 85 percent of the students are placed.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel provided by the college. The campus is actually small, sharing its grounds with Techno India University. The rest college building is well-equipped with good labs, ACs, and lifts. The campus area is about 3 acres, which is decent in an area called Sector 5, which is very close to the metro station.
Faculty: The college curriculum is actually outdated and running on an old system only. But it covers all the required fields for B.Tech specially. It is affiliated with Makaut University, which is actually followed by many universities in West Bengal. The college is not autonomous and runs on strict rules and regulations.
Other: Overall, the environment is good, happening, and well-maintained. So you can definitely take admission.

Absolutely love the college. It is truly an overwhelming experience.
Placements: Talking about placements, most of the companies that hire students are TCS, Cognizant, L&T, as well as ITC. The placement rate of the college is around 80%. The major roles offered are System Engineer and Graduate Engineer Trainee. Overall, it is good.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well maintained. They are cleaned regularly to maintain proper sanitation. The canteen is also quite good, especially the biryani canteen. It offers a wide variety of food items. Sports and games are organized regular basis.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful. They focus on the overall development of students. They are always ready to assist students whenever needed. The course curriculum is also relevant. The semester exams provide a truly different experience for students.
Other: Events and fests are very well organized in the college. Campus life is pretty nice. The course is quite interesting. As it mainly deals with computer software.

Mostly satisfied with the college, decent placements, affordable, and average infrastructure.
Placements: In my department, the placement rate last year (2024) was 93 percent. I do not have official data, but the estimated average package is 6–7 LPA, and the highest package is 21 LPA. Most students are recruited by TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, etc., which are mass recruiting companies, but companies like Amazon and Deloitte also visit the campus. Mostly, placements in my department are for developer roles.
Infrastructure: The college is well-equipped and maintained. The college has 2 grounds and 3 buildings. The library could be better. Computer labs are good and equipped with ACs. Classrooms are well ventilated and have enough light. I have not opted for the hostel and live in a private PG. I cannot comment on the college hostel and mess food, but the college is tied up with a PG, which is generally known as the college hostel. I know facilities because my friends stay there.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and supportive, except for a few. They teach well, and if you make notes and put in effort, you can score pretty well in the examinations. If you have any doubts, teachers can clear them if you approach them. Semester exams are not very difficult if you study decently. The curriculum is a bit outdated, but they teach enough to make students job-ready and relevant to the industry.
Other: As I chose the Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology, I can say the discipline in the IT branch is quite good. Students need to follow rules that are not very demanding. Faculty members are really supportive and will help if you approach them.

Dissatisfied with the college campus. It is very small, even smaller than some of the schools.
Placements: My course is new for the college. I am in the 4th batch of this department so there is not much information about the placement scenario or this department. But some of the seniors say that the average placement from this college is about 4 LPA-5 LPA.
Infrastructure: There are all the facilities in the college, Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, library, canteen, and many more, except for a hostel. You will need to find a hostel/PG/flats on your own. Many events related to sports, education, and technology are organized in the college.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful in the class. This course is in demand in the IT sector to protect them from cybercrime or any type of harmful hacking. Exams are conducted by the MAKAUT. This course can definitely make a student industry-ready for the upcoming demand for cybersecurity experts.
Other: I got this course through online counselling by MAKAUT after giving the WBJEE exam.

Techno Main College Review.
Placements: The placement scenario in this college is very good. Last year, many reputed companies visited the college. I think this college is good for placements. If you work hard, you can definitely get a good placement from the college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. Wi-Fi is available for students at all times. Classrooms are clean. Labs are well maintained. The canteen is small but good, and there are two canteens available. Sports facilities are good. Many clubs are present.
Faculty: Faculty is very good. They are knowledgeable, and the teaching is excellent. They make students feel comfortable in their studies and prepare them for the industry. Exams are a little tough. If you start learning from the beginning of the semester, you can score good marks in exams. Teachers here are very good.

If you're not able to receive OTP while applying at Techno Main Salt Lake, try resending or reloading the sent OTP. Wait for atleast 15-20 minutes or change the current netword settings. If this does not fix the problem of OTP not getting loaded, try using a different Email Id or phone no.
