To start with first thing you should ensure that you are eligible. Here is the eligibility criteria for marine engineering:
* To pursue a B.Tech in marine engineering, a candidate must have cleared 10+2 or any equivalent examination from a recognized board or university under the science stream with compulsory subjects, i.e. physics, chemistry and maths.
* The minimum cut-off is 50% in most institutes.
* Clearing an entrance exam is mandatory in order to get into most marine engineering institutes.
* Candidates who have completed a Diploma in any stream of engineering (marine, mechanical and electrical) with 55-60% in final year can join the B.Tech course from the 2nd year as part of the Lateral Entry scheme.
The entrance test is the final step which you have to clear for getting into the college. It would contain questions pertaining to physics, chemistry, logical reasoning, English and mathematics.
