Yes, Indian students are required to submit a Statement of Purpose which is also known as a personal statement. 

This SOP ranges from 300 to 500 words and it is a very strict requirement for all students.

To be considered competitive at Trinity College Dublin, Indian students are required to have an overall class 12 average of 80% to 85% from CBSE, State Boards or ICSE. 

For the more competitive TCD courses, the baseline gets closer to 85 to 90% with at least 75% in all subjects.

No, Trinity College Dublin is not really better than Harvard as Harvard's ranking is generally better than TCD.

Actually, Trinity is known as the Harvard of Ireland which means that this is also a great institution for higher learning.
