B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering - Batch of 2028

Everyone in college is really supportive.
Placements: The 2025 batch got placements in TCS and Capgemini with a package range from 4-5 from my branch. Other branch placements are really good, but as it is a biomedical it is exhausting and a new branch, and not that much-opening so many people preferred to go for higher studies.
Infrastructure: The hostel is not there, but the college campus is really good. Wi-Fi is available for all students. Labs are really good, and classrooms have a smartboard and air-conditioners. The library is also good with a pleasant environment, so it is good for studying. There are even CC labs if a student does not have a laptop, they get access.
Faculty: Teachers are really good and supportive. They help us as we ask them for help also encourage us. They provide a platform to get more information about any topic. They also guide us according to our strengths and weaknesses. The college is really good as it is an autonomous college, so it plans all the curriculum. In the semester, it is a passing of 40 marks out of hundred. There are two MSE exams from which the average is taken, and ESE is there, and assignments. There are 11 assignments out of which 10 are considered for the ISA.
Other: I am pursuing a biomedical engineering course. I chose this course because it is a really fascinating branch, as there are many options we can go in a core biomedical or in a tech field. If there is a chance of getting the electrical power. There is a work fest which is for the engagement of students. There are also biomedical branch events which give a platform for everyone, so we can get more understanding about our branch. Government scholarships are available, and there are also TFWS.

B.Tech in Computer Engineering - Batch of 2027

It is the best college in Mumbai with infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Approximately 60 to 70% of students are placed in our computer engineering course. The highest package 37.5 LPA is offered by Uniqlo. The average package is approximately 7 to 8 lacs. TCS is one of the top mass recruiters. LTI, Reliance Jio, Wipro, Capgemini, Infosys, and Justdial are also some major recruiters for our computer engineering department.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is much better and modern than other colleges of Mumbai. The whole Campus is divided into Blocks (buildings) according to departments. A-Block: Principle and Management, B-Block: Biomed Engineering Course, D-Block for Freshers (first year all departments), M-Block: Majorly Computer Engineering Course and Information Technology Course. C, E and F Block for EXTC and EXCS Department. Majorly all classrooms are Freshly Renovated in 2024-25. Nearly every part of college have network of Wi-Fi (Speed: approximately 25 Mbps), 2.5GHZ and 5Ghz also Available. CC Labs im G-Block have the latest Apple iMacs and RTX powered Custom rgb pc setup.
Faculty: Almost every teacher from our department is very knowledgeable and helpful. Our autonomous course curriculum is much better than other Mumbai University colleges. Semester exams aren't difficult because of the Monday test strategy of our college instead of mid-sem exams, due to such a strategy we students have to study every week of the semester which also makes us knowledgeable and industry-ready.
Other: None of our college fests take entry feels or tickets from students even if it's VERVE (February's Major Fest for College). We also have the vBroadcast app available on Google Play Store and App Store which secures our Digital college ID cars, and all information on upcoming, ongoing, and previous teach or sports events. Dogs and cats are always present hanging out on campus, and roofs of campus have nests of pigeons and sparrows all these give a peaceful environment.

Disappointing Placement System at Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
Placements: As a 2025 batch student, I’m disappointed with my college’s placement system. Internship opportunities aren’t provided, and off-campus internship opportunities are denied. Academics are prioritized over real-world experience, limiting our growth and industry readiness.
Infrastructure: No hostel for OHU students, you have to stay at high rent in Mumbai. The college infrastructure is excellent, the classes are good, you have good facilities and a good canteen. If you want to join college, just not for the placement but for the infrastructure, it is a good choice.
Faculty: The exam system is the worst at VIT Mumbai. They take 2 mid-semester exams, and the exams are every Monday, so a student does not have holidays or weekends for enjoyment. They have to study for their exams on weekends to be prepared for the Monday exam. So, the exam system is the worst; they do not listen to students' views on exams.

I am satisfied with this college everything, placement, crowd, faculty everything is top-notch.
Placements: Currently, I am in my second year of college, so I am not the one who is getting placed. But, I know some of my seniors who told me that placements are declining due to the increasing demand for computer/IT jobs and also the lack of skills. Recently, many companies have visited our campus for recruitment, and they rejected almost everyone as no one have skills they were looking for. The highest package is 12 LPA, so you get the overview of this college. Companies like Cognizant, TCS, and Wipro visit the campus for mass recruitment but recruit a very less number of students.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided by the college are top-notch, and the infrastructure is also top-notch. We have a lot of computers on campus, some of which are equipped with RTX 4090. The mess food is okayish, I won’t say it's good or bad, it’s just manageable. For sports purposes, we don't have a big ground, so sports facilities are average, as we have to take permission to play on the ground. There are two grounds at VIT, which are also used by other college students like VIIEE, VP, and VSIT. Every class is equipped with AC and a smartboard, and the library is like a great spot.
Faculty: Teachers at VIT are very helpful, friendly, and chill. They are the backbone of VIT. If you ever get admission to VIT, you’ll be surprised at how close faculty members are to students. They engage themselves in almost every event along with students and also encourage them. They are knowledgeable, and their teaching style is unique. However, like everywhere, there are exceptions. The college curriculum is good, it’s not hectic, but if you want to be industry-ready, you should study more than what is teach in class. The semesters aren’t difficult, they are easy.
Other: I am fully satisfied with this college. I was interested in technology, and my course offers me the freedom to chose what I want to do in life. This is the best thing about my course. I don't want anything to be better, but the hectic assignments should be changed. Every day there is a new event, something new is happening, and the crowd is supportive. The campus is great, and the opportunities for extracurricular activities are the best, as VIT helps students find their field of interest by creating different councils.

Honest review of my college.
Placements: I am not sure about percentage but many students got placed on campus. The average package is 5 LPA to 6 LPA. One student got placed off-campus with salary of 27 LPA. Last semester internships were offered to everyone in other colleges like CDAC, IITB, IIM, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are air-conditioned. All machines work perfectly. College has purchase many software like cadence, Turnitin, and many more. There is a huge library. Our college doesn't have hostel facility but there are a lot of PGs available near the college. Canteen food is healthy, affordable, and tasty. There are facilities like video game, pool table, and many games available.
Faculty: This is an autonomous college. We have a little different syllabus than Mumbai University colleges but also it's not completely different. Every Monday we have tests which helps in end semester exam. All faculty members are helpful and always ready to solve the doubts.
Other: The annual event which is conducted helps to relax the mind. It's quite good. We have branch wise college committees per committee organize 8-10 events per semester.

It has average faculty members, good infrastructure, and average placements.
Placements: Many companies visit the campus. Top recruiting companies like TCS, Wipro, and Accenture visit the college for placements. The placement cell helps students. The percentage of students who get placed is about 60-70%. The highest salary package offered is 20 LPA off campus, and the average salary package offered is 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good with one of the best college auditoriums in Mumbai. There are facilities like open Wi-Fi, a library, and a game spot. There are multiple food outlets. The food of the canteen is average. There is a Nescafe and CCD also.
Faculty: Faculty members, course curriculum, and exams are pretty much average. The exam curriculum is pretty much flexible for students as the college is autonomous. Some faculty members are really helpful. Faculty members help out students with doubts and projects. If needed internship-related queries are also sorted out by them.
Other: The campus life is good.
