The Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) in Mumbai determines cut off marks for its PG Diploma course based on the OET (Online Entrance Test). The OET has a maximum score of 150 marks and takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete. 
 
Students must have at least 45% marks in PCM in their class 12th-grade examination from an approved board. The qualifying mark to appear for the entrance test is 65% marks at the class XII Board examinations for candidates belonging to the General Category.

For B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.A. (MCJ) / B.M.S. / B.Sc. (IT) and the First Year Post Graduate
Courses which include M.Sc. in Botany, Biotechnology, Geology, Life Science, Microbiology and
M.A. in AICA, Psychology and Public Policy, the College has an Online Application System
through a facility on its website. This facility is made available from the second half of May. An
incomplete application will not be considered for admission.


Admissions to B.Sc. (IT) will be based on the marks scored in Mathematics at the Std. XII Board
Exam. There will also be an entrance exam

Applications for admission to the BMS and BAMCJ courses are to be submitted online, and the
admission process includes an Entrance Test. Please look up the details on the Home Page of the
College website. 

Admission to B.Com is through the College Office (Commerce Section), by filling out and
submitting a form in hard copy and through an interview with the Vice Principal of the Commerce
section or his representative

The University of Mumbai has made it mandatory for all candidates seeking admission to the first-year courses in the Degree Colleges to fill in the “Pre–Admission Online Registration Form

Q:   What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at Xavier Institute of Communications?
A: 
  1. First thing I would like to say that congratulations now you are feeling that you are on the top of the world but no you have to maintain 75% attendance otherwise you will loose 5marks which is very crucial.
  2. Stay away I repeat stay away from the people who wants you to join 'lobby' . If you like politics and quarrels then okay otherwise stay away from it.
  3. In Xavier's there will be enemies more than friends so choose wisely.
  4. Don't forget your id card ever.
  5. Make good friends enjoy the college life but don't forget to attend classes.
  6. Don't be the class CR few you don't want to get involved in lobbies.
  7. Xavotsav is really very attracting I know but trust me it's worth your time and money and respect. People loose their self respect to get posts in xavotsav it's not at all worth it.
  8. Must try canteen ka coffee. :)
  9. Try to take down all the notes given in the class and before semester try to arrange all other classes notes and study those mainly you will get good marks.
  10. Don't trust anyone blindly and don't run behind the posts of xavotsav.
  11. Carry your self and be confident. Fathers are really good if you are not breaking any rules like that.
