BITSAT begins from May 10
The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani is all set to conduct BITS Admission Test (BITSAT). It is a computer based online test (CBT) for admission to integrated first degree programmes at BITS campuses in Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa for the academic year 2012-13. The exam is scheduled to be held from May 10 to June 9, 2012.

Eligibility:
- Candidates should have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths (PCM) from a recognized central or state board
- Knowledge of English language is must
Students appearing for Class XII examination in 2012 or who have passed Class XII Examination in 2011 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT 2012 test. Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT 2012.
Admissions will be made on the basis of merit. Scores attained in the exam will determine the merit position of the candidate.
Syllabus
It is designed on the basis of NCERT syllabus for Class XI and XII. For further assistance, Candidates can refer to the NCERT textbooks for the contents.
Structure of the exam:
It will be an objective type exam where a candidate has to identify the correct answer from multiple options (4 options) given for each question. The exam will be of three hour duration. All the questions will be objective type and each correct answer will fetch 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted (-1mark) for every incorrect answer.

Score Card of BITSAT:
Upon completion of the exam, results will be declared by the computer to the candidate in terms of number of total correct answers and wrong answers, with the score. The candidate can also check and print his score report at the BITS website after all the tests are completed. Candidates are not allowed to repeat the test in the same year.
