JCECE 2016 Eligibility Criteria and Test Centres
Candidates appearing for the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) 2016 must fulfill the eligibility criteria for the same to make sure they can apply for the exam successfully. JCECE 2016 will begin from June 5, 2016 and the application process for the same has been started online. JCECE is a state level examination, conducted by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) for admissions to various engineering programmes. By appearing for this exam, candidates can seek admission to different engineering colleges in Jharkhand.

JCECE 2016 Eligibility Criteria
To make sure one is eligible to appear for the exam, applicants need to fulfill all the necessary requirements to appear for the same.
- Appearing candidates must be the permanent or local resident of Jharkhand State. He/she should have a residential certificate issued by the state government.
- Aspirants of any age can apply for B.Tech and BHMS courses, however, for MBBS, BDS, BSc, and B.Vsc courses, candidate must have completed the age of 17 year as on or before December 31 of the year of examination.
- For courses like agriculture and forestry, the upper age limit is 22 years (3 years of relaxation is exempted for the SC/ST categories).
- Those appearing for B.Tech programmes must ensure that they have passed class 12th with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects with chemistry/biology/biotechnology/technical vocational as optional subject.
- Candidates must have score at least 45% in aggregate (40% in case of reserved category) to be able to apply for the exam.
- To apply for courses like MBBS, BDS and BHMS the candidate must have passed class 12th with 50% (40% in case of reserved category) in subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually.
JCECE 2016 exam details will be updated soon on the official website. Those appearing for the exam must note that JCECE 2016 exam paper will have 200 multiple answer type questions with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as main subjects. The test centres for JCECE 2016 exam for candidates opting PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) is as follows:
- Hazaribagh
- Dhanbad
- Ranchi
- Jamshedpur
- Bokaro
- Dumka
JCECE 2016 exam for candidates appearing for PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology) will be conducted in Ranchi only.
JCECEB will release a merit list of shortlisted candidates in May 2016 (tentative). Selected students will be called for counseling round along with their documents as soon as the result is declared.
