KEAM 2014: Student reactions
Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical Entrance Exam 2014 (KEAM 2014) commenced today. Engineering aspirants needed to appear for paper 1 (physics and chemistry) of this entrance exam which was held on April 21, 2014 as well as paper 2 (mathematics) held on April 22, 2014. Students wanting to gain admission in medical programmes on offer through this state entrance exam need to sit for the exam on April 23, 2014.
The time slots for paper 1 and paper 2 (engineering stream) of KEAM 2014 is 10 am to 12:30 pm. However, while the medical entrance exam paper 1 is scheduled to be conducted from 10 am to 12:30 pm, paper 2 will be conducted from 2:30pm to 5 pm.
The tentative day for declaration of KEAM 2014 results is May 20, 2014.
Shiksha.com caught up with few students who took KEAM 2014 to get first hand information about how their exam went, their expectations and more.
Most of the students we spoke to revealed that the exam was easy as per them. They also shared that there were no glitches at their examination centres and they managed to complete the exam on time.
Rabin Raj, a student from Santhigiri Vidya Bhavan shared that as per him if ranked between easy, average and difficult, the exam was average, “Questions were asked from almost every topic covered in +1 and +2, some of the questions were similar to previous year question papers”. As per him most of the questions were asked from topics like gravitation, wave optics, magnetism and electrostatics. He further added, “I managed to attempt 110 questions”.
Vinod Raj who gave KEAM 2014 for the first time said, “Although the exam was good but I was not able to solve two questions from thermodynamics, maybe they were wrong or I only solved wrong I am not too sure”.
Attempting KEAM for the first time, a cinematographer at Mindscreen Film Institute, Vivek said, “The exam was easy and now I am keenly awaiting the results for my class 12 examination”.
Similar to other children, Alan Albiroy, a student from Santhigiri Vidya Bhavan also shared that as per him his exam went “nice”.
A resident of Trivandrum, Hari Shiv Shankar attempted KEAM for the second time and he felt the exam was very easy and on lines with the mock tests he practiced, “The exam was good, I completed the exam on time. Since I gave the exam last time, I was expecting the paper pattern to be such”. Hari attempted 107 of the total 120 questions of the exam and said, “Till now I am sure to get 105 questions correct”.
