I have loved maths and science since Class 9 and was quite sure that I will choose maths and science in Class 11and 12. Before selecting my stream at plus 2-level, I sought suggestion from my father’s friend too about which stream is better - science or commerce. He said that it all depends on your interest. So, I went ahead with maths and science. Though my elective subject was not computer science, I was more interested in it than mechanical engineering. So, I had thought I will opt for CSE in Btech. During BTech counselling too, I kept computer science and engineering as my first choice in all the NITs and IIITs. Luckily I got CSE in PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur. I love my course and I am enjoying every bit of it while learning programming in CSE and various other domains of computer science. 

How I cracked college admission

I dropped a year for preparation of IITs and all equivalent colleges. I took coaching from Resonance, Kota. Thereafter, I appeared for JEE Mains, JEE Advanced and also BITSAT. I studied very hard to crack JEE Mains and Advanced because I always wanted to join IIT, but I have got an extra ‘I’ in my college. I got admission in IIITDM Jabalpur through JEE Mains. I scored 193/360 and secured 13600 rank all over India. I cleared BITSAT with 321/450 score. Though I also cleared JEE Advanced, I did not get a rank good enough to get me a seat in IITs.

I appeared for JEE Mains counselling and searched about IIITDM Jabalpur and its placement. I liked IIITDM and luckily got admission here. I want to say here that I really worked hard for JEE Mains and Advanced because I feel it is very important to study at a great college to build one’s skills and enhance personality development.

About college life

College life is awesome. I attend almost all of the classes. There is the rule of maintaining 75% of attendance at IIITDM, so it’s important to attend all the classes. I specifically like attending lectures on database management system and algorithms. I am a member of college music club and love participating in many events organized by it. I am also a member of NSS club which performs social service. This club and its activities gives me inner peace and the satisfaction that I am doing something for society and the underprivileged lot. College has developed my confidence in many ways. Here, I get various platforms to express myself in front of the audience. My college life is awesome and very different from what I had imagined. It teaches us how to manage together studies, daily life and various other things.
