With only few weeks left for the higher secondary certificate (HSC) and secondary school certificate (SSC) examinations, students are studying against the clock and schools and colleges are trying to prepare students as much as possible. Some good tips are coming from all the sources to crack the exam.
Ajay Kumar, lecturer at Jai Hind College said that mathematics and commerce students should focus on practicals and solving Paper II. This is the only section where they can score the most and one should also focus on solving previous year's board question papers. He added that commerce and science students always get a holiday before maths paper so students get enough time to revise the course. Many moderators suggest that firstly, students should read the whole question paper thoroughly; at least 10 minutes should be given. Now even the board also assigns 15 extra minutes to read the question paper properly. Usually, students often forget to check what has been asked from them in that particular question and end up losing out on marks.
Sheelu Bhatia, lecturer at SIES College said that, one can score good marks if you highlight the main keyword in the answer sheet and make it a habit. Nowadays, students have been taught about the main keyword to be mentioned in the answer, and this keyword reflects your understanding in the subject.
According to many moderators, it becomes easy to check the answer sheet if students underline or highlight key words/points in their answer sheets with a pencil. Many examiners said that neat answer sheets can gain brownie points. In language papers, students keep on writing vague answers for two mark question, and it put offs the examiner ability to check the paper. Language score are difficult to score but it is not impossible to score.
It's important for students not to mess with the bar code sticker as it is your only identity and only blue and black pens should be allowed.
