<p style="text-align: justify;">The Ford Foundation International Fellowships Programme (IFP) is inviting applications for its last batch of awards. Deadline for pre-applications is December 15, 2009.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />Forty fellowships are on offer for Indian candidates living and working in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jammu &amp; Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br /><img style="border: 3px solid black; margin: 3px 4px; float: left;" src="https://images.shiksha.com/mediadata/images/1256019738phpEEQwRG.jpeg " alt="" width="150" height="110">Applicants must hold a Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s degree from a recognised Indian university with at least 55 per cent marks. They must have at least three years&rsquo; full-time work experience relevant to their proposed area of study. They should also have experience in leadership and community service or development-related activities. They should have experienced some socio-economic disadvantage in their access to quality higher education.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />IFP will help the fellows in university admission process, and will pay for travel, tuition fees, living costs and logistical arrangements related to their study programmes.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />Launched in 2001, IFP is meant to build a new generation of social justice leaders in India and certain other regions by offering an opportunity for quality higher education.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />As of October 2009, IFP India has selected 280 fellows for Master&rsquo;s and PhD programmes.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />There will be four stages of selection. In the first two, experts will assess applications. The next two rounds will be regional and national interviews.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />Vivek Mansukhani, director, Ford Foundation IFP in India, says, &ldquo;(The year) 2010 will be the last year that we select IFP fellows.
