MHT- CET 2011 will be held on 12th May 2011
MHT- CET 2011 or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test will be conducted on 12th May, Thursday for admissions into various degree courses and carried out by the Government of Maharashtra. The entrance exam invites applications for all the aspiring students interested in admissions into Pharmacy, Engineering and Health Sciences degree courses for the academic year 2011-2012. MHT-CET Examination' exam is conducted under the Competent Authority which is Director of Medical Education and Research, Mumbai. However, there are two different Competent Authorities, which undertake the selection process.
Students Must Fulfill the Following Eligibility Criteria:
- Must have cleared 10+2 level form the recognized board with at least 50 % aggregate
- There will a relaxation for reserved categories for 45% marks
- Candidates pursuing class 12th class can also sit for the examinations
Criteria for Non-Maharashtra candidates:
It is required for the appearing applicant to be an Indian National. He or she must have passed the H. Sc (10+2 Std.) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 50% marks i.e. 150 marks out of 300 marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together.
MHT-CET 2011 Examination Pattern
Paper 1 | Physics and Chemistry | 50 marks each |
Paper 2 | Biology (Biology and Zoology) | 50 marks each |
Paper 3 | Mathematics | 100 marks |
There will be two papers of the above subjects and of one and a half a hours duration each. All the questions are mandatory and must answer each one of these. Applicants willing to take admissions in Health Science courses and BVSc & AH must appear for Paper 1 & Paper 2. Also, the applicants willing for selection in MHT CET Engineering degree courses are required to sit for Paper I and Paper III. In addition to this, candidates interested in to Pharmacy degree course must give exams for Paper I & Paper-II and/or Paper-III.
Negative Marking:
There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
Syllabus:
The syllabus for MHT-CET will be the same for the syllabus for Higher Secondary or Class XII examination of the Board of Maharashtra.
According to a survey, Maharashtra has around 155 engineering colleges and universities, which attracts 48250 students every year. VJTI, D J Sanghvi College of Engineering, Government Engineering College Pune are some of the reputed institutions, which have earned a good name for itself in terms of academics and faculty.
