Students bagged 22 jobs in the first round of Placements: DU
The season of placements has already begun at Delhi University on Tuesday. The first round of central placements has begun with the presence of four companies who visited the campus to hire the final year students as well as those pursuing graduation. 
A job portal who visited the campus has hired 22 students mainly for sales and marketing on the first day itself. Other three companies have gone back with the resumes of students. More than 800 students had turned up for the recruitment process.
As per the central placement cell (CPC) officials, the average salary offered on the first day was Rs 2.5 lakh. The second round of placements will take place on 29th January, 2012. In next round, it is expected that a Japanese company will visit the campus with the highest placement offer of Rs 1.25 lakh per month.
It is likely to offer jobs in sales and for first three years, one has to stay in Tokyo. The central placement cell had managed to place nearly 1,000 students last year of a total of 12,000 who had registered. Thirty companies had visited the campus for placements last time that included PSUs, KPOs, BPOs and NGOs. The highest package offered last year was Rs 5.5 lakh per annum to a post-graduate student for finance profile. The lowest annual package offered was Rs 2.10 lakh.
