BJB Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar

Hello people, I am Pratik Mishra, residing in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Well, what can I say about my career till now? I had completed my primary school education from ODM Public School. In higher secondary, I took up Science. After then, I dropped a year and tried for Common Law Admission Test or CLAT. But I couldn't get through it by a mere 2 marks. I was clueless about what to opt for next.

And then, I applied for BA (Hons) at BJB Autonomous College. I didn't know anything about Arts stream, but I had a friend whom I met on Facebook and she was a student of BJB too. I asked her about the best options available in Arts, and she insisted I go for Economics. Hence, I chose Economics without having any knowledge about it. I just thought that it'd be like the class 10 Economics. I got admission but when I saw the syllabus, it felt like venturing into an unknown world. To be honest, the graduation syllabus was totally different from the class 10 syllabus and there was no similarity between the two. But then, I knew that BJB Autonomous College was and still is the best college in Odisha, so I thought I'd learn something there. It's not academically poor, it's still good. I went to the college after two months. I barely knew anyone. But then I met a school friend of mine on that very day who was contesting for the post of General Secretary in the students’ union elections. She didn't quite seem to remember me. But then she recognized me somehow.

Days passed and I hardly attended 10-15 classes in my whole graduation tenure. But I would not want you people out there to do so. It didn't attend classes just because I didn't feel like attending them and I always found them boring. Rather, I spent time with my friends, and you know how people change during this phase. This went on and on, but I still managed to secure 57% at the end of my final semester, which was poor aggregate. But I'd advise you people out there to study timely. Don't give more time to friends like I did and ruined my results. Give as much time to studies as you can and concentrate well. After that, close the book and do something productive, or take a nap and then get back to studies again. But do keep in touch with the books. BJB Autonomous College has given me a lot to cherish. It's a very good college to opt for. But then, at the end of the day, teachers can't make you digest everything. You need to study on your own too, so never hesitate to join this college.

I hope my experience was worth reading. Good luck to all you guys out there. Take care, and do study well. Cheers!
