Colleges like SRCC, Kirori Mal College, Miranda House, Ramjas and Hansraj et al have hiked their cut off comparatively from last year.

SCORING ABOVE excellent in high school might seem a lot easier task than getting admission into prestigious Delhi University. The rising upward trend of cut-offs for admission has clearly passed on a message from off campus colleges, that is, hard to get in this time.

However, popular colleges showed a marginal rise of 0.25% to 1% in various courses. Colleges like Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Mata Sundri and Keshav Mahavidyalaya raised their admission eligibility by 5% for B.Com (H), B.Com (H) and B Sc (H) Computer Science.

Other colleges repeated last year's cut off list as they did not participate in charting new list, courtesy, the ongoing strike by DU professors. Some of such colleges are, Ramjas, ARSD, Agrasen and Zakir Hussain.

At SRCC, which is known for its sky rocketing cut off lists, the cut off for its B Com (H) course remained unchanged at 95.25% while the cut off for Economics (H) rose slightly by 0.25%. The scale was determined at 93.75% to 96.75% pertaining to various streams. Other elite colleges like Hansraj and Kirori Mal college hiked their cut off in B Com (H) by 0.75 to 1.5 % respectively. Ramjas college decided to keep the cut off list same as previous years' that stood at 94.5% for B Com (H) and 93.5 for B Com.

As the 90 percent scorers have done all that it takes, the candidates who come in the next bracket can breathe easy as their's enough place in colleges like Dyal Singh, Kalindi, Lakshmi Bai, Maharaja Agrasen, Shaheed Bhagat Singh (evening) and Zakir Hussain (morning).

Students looking for ward to pursue science courses might have to take a bow as many colleges have hiked their cut off list. Miranda House raised the cut off for Physics (honours) and Chemistry (honours) courses by 2-4%. In Kirori Mal there is also an increase of 2% in both courses. Sri Venkateshwara college registered a hike of 1-2% in its science courses.
