Commonly asked questions
On International Relations Colleges in Bangalore
Q:   Can I do an MA in Political Science after a BA in International Relations?
A:

Of course, you can. International Relations is a part of Political Science, and if you decide to go for your higher studies in Political Science, there's nothing wrong with it.

But understand this, International Relations means studying international law, global politics, diplomacy, etc. And Political Science means domestic governance, Indian laws, and local political systems.

Choose any course, keeping your future goals in mind.

Q:   What is the difference between International Relations and Geopolitics?
A:

A lot! Geopolitics is a lot more than International Relations. You need to understand that the Geopolitics is like a structure used to understand how the world works. Geopolitics says that the Geography decides what we are and what we'll become.

For instance, if you're born in India and your parents are also from India, then you're ultimately an Indian. And your geographical location decides what language you'll speak. It's that simple.

International Relations, on the other hand, is all about political interactions between countries, understanding their media and laws.

Q:   Which option should I choose: International Relations or Political Science?
A:

The answer is simple! Go for Political Science if you're into Indian Politics, Domestic Governance, etc. If you have an interest in International Law, Diplomacy, and Global Politics, join IR courses.

If you have any plans to go for higher studies like MA, you can also complete a UG degree in Political Science and then go for an MA in International Relations

See, International Relations is a subfield of Political Science, and by this, you'll get a base knowledge of Indian Politics as well.
