Admission at Nagaland University is merit-based only. Admission to UG courses is based on the class 12th performance of the candidate and admission to PG courses is based on the performance or score in the previous qualifying exam. 

Only for Ph.D. courses does the university conduct an enterance exam which is followed by Personal Interviews. The admission to this course is based on the scores of CSIR NET/ UGC NET. For more information kindly visit the Shiksha website. 

No, students can not get direct admission. The university accepts admission based on the application sent by the candidates followed by an interview, wherein the university evaluates its applicants based on their academic qualifications and other co-curricular activities. For the PhD programme, admission is entrance-based. Aspiring candidates must qualify for the eligibility criteria set by the institute for the desired course. 

St. Joseph's College, Jakhama has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

M.A.	Interested Candidate should have a Graduation degree from a UGC approved University.
B.Com	Interested Candidate should have passed class 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board.
B.Sc.	Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized school/board.
B.A.	Interested Student should have passed class 10+2 or equivalent with English as core subject and should have scored minimum 50% in it.

St. Joseph University Dimapur admission is primarily merit-based. The university considers the qualifying exam scores of the candidates for admission. Selected candidates need to send the specified documents for verification. Once the documents are verified, aspirants are then called for a preliminary interview via phone by the online admission desk. Further, candidates need to pay the course fee to confirm their seat.
