Most companies look for students having past experience in various internships or building projects. So if you are a fresher and you do not have many or any experience in such a field, don’t fret too much! Campus interviews can be intimidating and if you are sitting for the first time, don’t let that anxiety stop you from getting the best out of you.
Here are some tips and tricks to stay ahead of the pack and crack your interviews!
1.APTITUDE/WRITTEN TEST/ONLINE TEST
In most companies, the aptitude round is the very first round in the placement process. In this round, the company checks if the candidate has the capability of problem-solving.This round mainly consists of logical reasoning, quantitative problems and verbal ability and sometimes technical questions too. To clear this round, you need a lot of practice.
2. GROUP DISCUSSIONS
In most companies, the GD round is the second most important round. To ace the GD round, the most important thing is your communication skills.
Therefore, the main thing is to improve your communication skills.
- Practice with your friends for common interview questions to get a clear edge at group discussion.
- Show your enthusiasm and passion about the company.
- Get comfortable with public speaking; this will help you deal with slippery situations.
- Try building up your vocabulary.
- Do read the newspaper.
3. PERSONAL INTERVIEW
Depending on your course, there are many rounds of interview. For example, if you are from technical background you would most probably have two rounds of interview -
- TECHNICAL INTERVIEW: You will be required to solve a couple of questions. Study your data structures algorithms, read books of well-known authors, solve questions and use other resources.
- KNOW YOUR PROJECT: Your project is something that you must know about with all your heart and soul. So, naturally, the recruiter expects you to know the tiny bit of it. Explain your project nicely, the hard situations you got caught into and how you overcame them while making it.
- HR ROUND
The typical questions asked in this interview are:
-
- Tell me something about yourself.
- Why this company? (Do not just start buttering them)
- Are you willing to work in any office of the company across if they reallocate you in any other state or city? (Your answer should always be yes if you want the job).
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Why should we hire you?
The important thing a candidate should always remember is
- Be Honest
- Be Confident
- Ask Questions
