After the SNAP 2011 exam was conducted, the test takers found that many questions of the paper were erroneous and some MBA test prep institutes such as Bull's Eye and Ascent Education have alleged that some of the questions have been copied from the websites of those institutes. Some of the test takers and MBA coaching institutes including T.I.M.E. took the matter to Symbiosis International University.

In response to this, SIU has set up an external committee to probe the matter and present its recommendations.  Talking about the current status of the committee, Dr. Kathpalia said, "We are right now working overtime to get the report of the external committee ASAP. As of now the external committee is working on this."

According to Dr. Kathpalia, the committee includes of eminent academicians, educationists and SIU would abide by the decisions and recommendations of the committee.

T.I.M.E., one of the top MBA coaching institutes have mentioned, "Since the incorrect questions in SNAP 2011 have left the student community at large worried about the impact of these issues on their chances, we have decided to take the issue up to the notice of the authorities at Symbiosis. We have written a mail to the Registrar, Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of Symbiosis International University. In this mail, we have listed out the incorrect questions and also those which seem to have been taken from other exams/sources and have urged them to take necessary action to ensure that the students will be reassured."

According to T.I.M.E., there were seven questions which were incorrect and 25 questions were taken from other sources.

On December 20, 2011, Madhu Sharma, Registrar, SIU gave a clarification on SNAP 2011 where it was mentioned, "Although a prima facie investigation has not found anything wrong in the SNAP examination, still the University administration is carefully looking into all the complaints received."

It was also mentioned that the question papers were set by subject experts with intensive experience and knowledge. "We would take appropriate decisions based on the recommendations of the committee in the best interests of the students."
