<p style="text-align: justify;">IIM's considered as one of the most premier institutes of the country. It is really tough to crack the IIM's selection procedure. This year also 2.3 lakhs students attempted for CAT entrance test and only few lucky will able to crack the nut. IIMs have maintained special standards for it and cater the best education in the most student friendly environment to the students. To meet the demand of rising expenditure on salaries and infrastructure, the premier Indian Institute of Management is planning to increase its fee by Rs. 1,00,000-2,00,000 for their two year post graduate course.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">IIM-Bangalore's board of governors, chaired by Mukesh Ambani decided to increase the fees from Rs 11.5 lakh (Rs 1.15 million) to Rs 13 <img style="border: 3px solid black; margin: 3px 4px; float: right;" src="https://images.shiksha.com/mediadata/images/1270458309phpIBZd6K.jpeg " alt="" width="121" height="135">lakh (Rs 1.3 million) for the incoming batch of 2010. A few days back, IIM said it would hike the fees for its two-year PGP course. Following the same trend IIM-Kozhikode, too, decided to hike its PGP fee by Rs 100,000 to Rs 10 lakh (Rs 1 million) from the next academic session as per Debashish Chatterjee, director of IIM-K. IIM Calcutta and IIM shillong is not behind this race they too are planning to hike the fee for the next session.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">This sudden hike in the fee became the concern of aspiring candidates and also of some ministers. Some IIMs decided to just double the fee from the coming session. Few ministers are not happy with this change and have given some points regarding that the government sanctioned enough money for their expenditures, so they really do not require raising their free from time-to-time. Expressing the concern over the issue a senior leader Mr. Murli Manohar Joshi said, "When the government was providing all financial assistance for the development of Indian Institutes of Management, why fees were frequently hiked and the students are being charged lakhs of rupees?"</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The hike in the fee is the sign of commercialization of the education. The education should be within the reach of the common man, but after such fee hike in the premier institutes gives an alarming signal to the aspiring candidates.
