After completing 10th standard I had to select a stream in Intermediate. Since my family gave me freedom to choose the course of my choice, I chose MEC in Intermediate and successfully completed it. But after Intermediate, I was confused about which course to pursue in Graduation. I consulted my family members and friends and decided to enroll in B Com course. In my third year, I took CAT as I wanted to join a good B-school for PGDM.

I got a call from Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad, to attend the selection process. I got selected in IPE (Institute of Public Enterprise) after which I consulted my parents, seniors and my previous faculty to know which course will be helpful in securing a job and for future growth. With their suggestion I chose finance and HR as my electives. Right now pursuing PGDM program for a better future.

How I cracked college admission

During my final year in my graduation I wanted to write CAT to join a good B-school so I inquired about a lot of institutes which train students for CAT. I finally zeroed-in on two institutes - T.I.M.E and Career Launcher. I joined the latter and scored a good percentile in CAT.  I also appeared in IBSAT for admission to IBS Hyderabad. I qualified but got a seat in IBS Ahmedabad. I was not interested in it because of its location doesn’t suit me and it doesn’t offer PGDM programme.

I decided to write ICET and applied in other B-schools too. However, when I got selected in IPE, I joined it.

What I gained from my college years

On the campus, I usually spend time with my friends and attend all the classes. I like to attend classes which are related to finance and economics because I love accounts and enjoy learning different accounts practiced in the Corporate world. Given a chance I would like to study systems specialization as I am passionate about systems.

My college life is immensely enriching as I get the opportunity to communicate with different people from different states and those having work experience in different sectors. I get the chance learn about the Corporate work culture, how to present your ideas, how to manage people of different mindsets and make them do the work and get the best result, how to achieve goals etc.

My perception and logical thinking has changed while studying at IPE. I get the opportunity to improve my skills-set, to learn which courses are more important for seeking a job. The experienced faculty of the college is always there to clear doubts of the students.

I participate in various sports and usually play table tennis. Whenever I get free time, I go to the library to read journals and books related to my subjects.
