Since, I am very much interested in Mathematics I chose MPC in my Intermediate. My parents also supported my choice because MPC makes it easier to those who wish to pursue Engineering and Management later.

I chose Siva Sivani Institute of Management, Hyderabad as it offers PGDM with triple specialization which is a plus point viz. prospects in the job market.

Siva Sivani Institute of Management has a lot of unique features that made me choose it for higher studies.

• It follows book review session which is very useful for a management student. The session includes presentations which helps the student overcome nervousness.
• Guest lectures are organized that enables the student to interact with delegates of from the corporate world and build network.
• Siva Sivani Institute of Management also provides internship for each and every student.

Many such factors made me to choose Siva Sivani Institute of Management to pursue my post-graduation.

How I cracked college admission

It’s a long procedure. Firstly, I applied to Siva Sivani Institute of Management and qualified for the next stage of screening. Then they conducted a Psychometric Test online, a test to analyze the candidate’s nature and aptitude which helps the student in selecting the area of specialization in 2nd year. I qualified for Marketing Specialization which I am planning to take up in 2nd year.

After the Psychometric Test, a Group Discussion was conducted, a common practice in most B-schools to check the candidate’s General Knowledge and communication skills. The final round was personal interview.

To get admission in an MBA programme I followed the guidelines of my family members, friends and seniors and took coaching from Time Institute of Management to get a good score in MAT, CAT exams.

A minimum of 50 percentiles in the Aptitude tests like CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA etc. is necessary to get into a good B-School. I scored 95.4 percentile in MAT due to which I easily secured admission in Siva Sivani Institute of Management.

What I gained from my college experience

I spend most of my time in college i.e., from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. I like marketing classes a lot, taught by Prof. Muralidhar Rao. He teaches excellently by using mind map technology.

I have also participated in our college annual fest i.e., Samanvay. I was a part of the team which was assigned with the job to promote our fest in all the other colleges in Hyderabad.

I also participated in SNATHAK – the convocation event for the super seniors wherein I was given the task to manage the hospitality of super seniors who were coming for their convocation which helped me improve my network.

But the milestone of my life so far is SAMANVAY- the college fest. I was the vice-president of the fest. The fest included everything like spontaneity, stress, multi-tasking and almost all the hardships but it helped me learn how to manage time, how to prioritize work, how to build a strategy, how to conduct a meeting, how to deal with colleagues, how to maintain a team and most importantly, how to negotiate and strike a deal with sponsors and partners and how to handle conflict.

If I get a chance to change the college atmosphere, I would like to introduce some new events and clubs like idea-generation club, startup club, confidence-building club, etc.

Siva Sivani Institute of Management has really changed my life. Here, I came to know that who am I and what are my strengths. I am very much happy to be a part of Siva Sivani Institute of Management family.
