I was determined to pursue a Masterโ€™s degree and also work at the same time. I was working in Clean Energy Development Bank and simultaneously decided to join MBA (Evening classes) at ACE Institute of Management. I spent my college years by working throughout the day and attending classes in the evening. My college life was filled with assignments, presentations and case studies and not to forget deadlines. The most challenging task at that time was to balance my work life and college life. I am very thankful to my supervisor for her immense support during difficult times at work and for her motivation that I should complete my Masterโ€™s degree. My parents also supported me a lot and it is only because of their support and blessings that I was able to complete my Masterโ€™s degree.

Keeping in mind the difficulties and challenges that I faced during my college life, if given a chance, then I would have preferred to pursue morning/regular MBA classes so that I could concentrate only on my studies. Having an MBA degree and enough work experience is sufficient to be successful. As for me because of my degree I got an opportunity to shift from the banking sector to development sector. Working for the development sector was a dream which came true after completing my Masterโ€™s degree.

Self-motivation, discipline and never saying no attitude were the few things I learnt in my college.

Speaking of the lessons, I feel the colleges should bring qualified lecturers and ask them to provide relevant examples, real case scenarios that would help the students understand the course content in a wider context. At my college, the lecturers were too dependent on the slides prepared by someone else. So, they lacked creativity and knowledge to help students understand the course material.

Like my father, I always wanted to work for the development sector. So, he was the source of inspiration for me to select this career path. In order to enter the development sector, I sat for numerous interviews but was rejected many times. After trying a lot I finally got an opportunity to work for an NGO which made me really happy.
