Mystory@Glodia: What I gained from my college years

My college life was smooth and exciting. I attended every class while I was in college. However, I missed few of them due to emergencies or when I was not at the best of my health. But then I made sure that I catch up everything I missed during my absence; thus following up on the lectures to know the topics that I have missed. Talking about assignments, I used to tackle them the same day they were given out. I used to avoid work under pressure and this gave me exceptional results.

During my exams, I used to study hard but at the same time attended music concerts just to unwind my mind. I believe my college years shaped my career because it taught me a lot about team work in a sense that during the group tasks I was able to plan, organise, lead and control. Infact, it gave me back my confidence which was evident while class presentations.

My college hosted students different races together and as a result I learnt about different cultures. Due to this, now I am able to easily interact with people from different social backgrounds.

Waking up every day inspired me the most because I knew that to see another new day was yet another chance for me to change my life for better. It was an opportunity for me to strive for better results in my career. I chose general management as a subject of study because I wanted to learn how to manage myself and everything around me.

My mistake after graduating was that I was too naïve to the outside world. My first job interview went well but I turned the opportunity even before we could get to the point of discussing the salary. I realized my fault a few days later. From there on, I ensured that I do no turn  down any opportunity before knowing all the related details about the same. I made sure that I weigh all the aspects of my job interview and then decide upon it.
