Mystory@Hiren Brahmbhatt: How I selected my career

I completed 12th in Humanities and graduation with Economics. After completing graduation I took a break for the preparation of GCET which was the entrance exam for MBA. Because I scored a good percentage in GCET, this made me secure a seat for MBA programme offered at a Government College- Kuchchh, in the Department of Commerce and Management. During college we had so many projects and practical and that was where we actually came to know about real business world how business runs, about the share market, about Indian economics and all that business related facts. This knowledge was so important to know about corporate world.

How I chose my career path

After successfully completing MBA I landed into my first job at T.B.Z Bhavnagar branch. I worked there for almost a year before joining an IT Company Etech and I-serve Pvt.Ltd. in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Then I joined the Government of Gujarat as Class-II position officer in 2015 and is still working here in DRDA Bhavnagar. My future plan is to set up my own business. As of now I am running a Cashew Nut Manufacturing plant and working on it. It’s been 2 months and now I can see various opportunities approaching in this business.

While seeking for jobs, the first mistake I committed was to hurry for the job at TBZ. I was recruited as Sales Executive in TBZ which was not something I expected. I always wanted to work as HR executive. My second mistake was accepting job in Etech and I serve in Gandhinagar, which was in IT sector, an exactly opposite profession. We must be clear whilst making career choices otherwise end up committing mistakes like me. I learned a lot about business, while working with TBZ. I also gained knowledge about customer service, Behavioral Change, Customer satisfaction, Product Presentation etc. All the skills learnt while working with TBZ now helps me a lot in my newly started business. Eventually we always learn something even from our mistakes all should be there is a positive attitude.

My name is Hiren Brahmbhatt and I am from Savarkundla Amreli district-Gujarat. I have completed my graduation in Economics from Kanakia College, Gujarat and then pursued MBA in Marketing and HR from Kachchh University-Bhuj. Currently I have been working at DRDA Bhavnagar as an Ass. Program Office (Administration) Class-II. A phrase that I always follow and would like to share is that never regret your past and never worry about your future, just live your life at the fullest because we are born with nothing and we will die with nothing.
