In a confusion of choosing the correct stream for graduation I consulted my brother who suggested MPC. Since I don’t like MPC, but I am passionate about agriculture I wanted to join BIPC. However, one of my uncles suggested my parents that I pursue commerce. Finally, I took up commerce and completed my graduation from Osmania University, Hyderabad. As I had a lot of interest in accounts, I chose it as my specialization. During my under graduation days, I developed interest in management studies and thus decided do my post-graduation in management. I wanted to move out of Anantapur to pursue further studies so I consulted my sister who suggested Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad. She has studied in the same college.
I checked other b-schools in Hyderabad as well, and found IPE to be the best among all. Thus I joined this college.

How I cracked college admission

After completion of my graduation I started preparing for MAT by myself and after clearing the exam I applied to six b-schools out of which I got selected in three.

I got a seat in ICFAI but preferred XIMB so applied there. XIMB admission process was taking time so I applied to IPE (Institute of Public Enterprise) on my sister’s advice. Coincidentally, after joining IPE I got selected at XIMB too.

What I gained from my college years

I spend most of my day attending classes. After classes I read news and other articles related to business and management. At college, we have many discussions on current affairs and topics which enhance our knowledge.

Since all the activities organized here are team-activities, I have learnt to interact with people and how to do a job effectively as a team. Management is all about working in teams, managing it and working cordially with the members involved. It has also developed leadership qualities in me which is improving with each passing day.

Many other activities are organized in college which increases knowledge and adds to our experience, like a research in child mortality for PAN IIM conference organized by IIM Ahmedabad. This research work inspired me to do more research work.

I participated in Samarthya, a college event that organizes management games, with 8-member team and learnt a lot about team management.

I also participated in one-day event on leadership, Manthan Samvad, conducted by Dr.Reddy’s. It was a way to connect our knowledge to the real experience of the various entrepreneurs. Participating in college’s management fest and volunteering for Startupedia- a platform for all budding entrepreneurs to prepare a presentation of their startup plan- has taught me numerous things.

College experience has changed me in many ways. Once an introvert boy, today I am confident and extrovert. I have started analyzing things with a business perspective. Today, I am a more responsible person. This course is molding me to become an efficient leader.
