Fancy pursuing a management course from Wharton? Well here’s your golden chance.

The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School is offering three new courses on the online learning platform Coursera – financial accounting, marketing, and corporate finance. A fourth course in operations management is already on offer since September.  The four courses together rounds off the Foundation Series.

“The series kicks off with An Introduction to Financial Accounting on September 16th, followed by introductory courses on Operations Management, Marketing, and Corporate Finance through the fall. Join the more than 695,000 students from all around in the world who have already enrolled in a Wharton course, as well as explore business-related offerings from our other university partners,” read a statement on Coursera. “Along with five existing electives, which include courses on sports business and health care, the new offerings make it possible to learn much of what students in Wharton’s full-time MBA program learn, and from the same professors. All nine courses are massive open online courses, or MOOCs, expected to attract students from around the world,” stated Businessweek.

The foundation courses are about 6 to 10 weeks long, and for a $49 fee, students can receive verified electronic certificate indicating that they’ve completed the course requirements.

Although students won’t get the full Wharton on-campus experience – including internship, career services or alumni network – the foundation courses provide a combination of pre-recorded lectures and interactive features such as discussion boards that allow students to ask questions and get answers from the professor or an assistant, further informed Businessweek.

The courses from Wharton are quite popular. According to details, about 700,000 students from 173 countries have already enrolled in Wharton MOOCs (Massive open online courses), more than the combined enrolment in Wharton’s traditional MBA and undergraduate programs since the school’s founding in 1881.
