AFMC 2011 To Be Held on 1st May 2011!

AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College) 2011, Pune exam will be held on 1st May at various centers throughout the country. The MBBS programme of AFMC will commence from 1st August 2011. There is a vacancy for 130 students and 105 boys and 25 girls will be chosen for the programme. Ten seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates who have met the medical fitness, age, educational qualification requirements, set by the Commission. The applicants chosen for AFMC 2011, Pune will be required to serve as commissioned officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services on graduation.

The recruitment for various posts will rest upon the total vacancies available and merit-cum-option at the final MBBS examination. Those SSC officers, who pass out of AFMC, will serve to the Armed Forces Medical Services for seven years. Moreover, candidates who qualify are made to sign a bond in this regard for an amount of 15 lacs (Rupees Fifteen lacs) at the time of joining.

Apart from this, any student terminated from his service liability for any reason, is required to pay this bond money according to rules and regulations set by Government of India.

Educational Qualification For AFMC Exam 2011:

  • Candidates are required to have passed XII standard/pre-professional/premedical examination or equivalent examination of statutory Indian University/Board with 60% of aggregate marks in the three science subjects taken together.
  • The marks in both Science and English subjects should not be less than 50%
  • Student must have successfully passed an exam in Mathematics at least of the matriculation standard. A graduate of B.Sc. examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany or Zoology)
  • Students can purchase the prospectus and application forms for Rs 250/- in cash only. They can also download the form from official website:- www.afmc.nic.in. Last date for downloading application form is 5 February 2011 up to 5 pm. Completed forms must reach to the officer-in-charge (admissions cell), armed forces medical college, post office Wanowarie, Pune.

Exam Pattern For AFMC Exam 2011:

The duration of AFMC exam will be 2 hours with 200 objective questions. Students will be judged on the following subjects in this competitive exam:
