Good news for medical students as well as aspirants! Addition of over 3,595 new MBBS seats will make many more dreams come true.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has given a green signal to 2,400 fresh MBBS seats in 20 new medical colleges, while existing medical colleges have been granted 1,195 additional seats across the country.

Apart from this, 300 more medical seats would be created through six new institutes on the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), effective from September this year.

Medical students have reason to cheer with the addition of 1,442 post graduate seats. Existing colleges will add 1,326 seats for MD/MS and around 116 more super-specialty seats would be available for DM/MCH.

Under the new list of medical colleges, MCI has approved nine governmental medical colleges and 11 private medical colleges. Soon, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and West Bengal will have new medical colleges.

Last year saw 4,452 new MBBS seats approved by the MCI in 21 new medical colleges and the rest were created in the existing medical colleges of the country.
