First NEET for MBBS will roll out from May 2014
The Medical Council of India (MCI) has cleared the doubts over the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions to undergraduate and post-graduate MBBS courses across the country. Now the test will come into effect from the academic year 2013-14 and it is expected that CBSE will conduct the first NEET in May 2014. (Read more)
As a result, students taking admission in 10+2 this year can start preparing for the test as they will have to qualify NEET for admission to MBBS courses from academic session 2014-15. The final syllabus for NEET can be downloaded from the official website of MCI: www.mciindia.org.
The new combined entrance exam will determine admissions across 271 medical colleges, 138 public institutions, and 133 private colleges for more than 31,000 MBBS seats. There are about 11,000 seats available for PG degrees. (Read full story)
