Quality of medical education is one of the biggest issue for MCI. High Court has expressed its serious concern over the β€˜mechanization of medical education' and smashed Medical Council of India (MCI) as it is not doing enough for the quality of medical education in the country. Due to the uncontrolled burgeoning of medical colleges; the quality of teaching faculty and infrastructure has subsequently was being ignored.

The court has provided MCI with some guidelines and allowed Sharda University and two other colleges to increase the intake of MBBS students from 100 to150. For the commercialization of medical education in the country, MCI should give a boost to the system and should also stop the unequal growth of medical colleges.
