Since the inception of NEET, it has always been in talk. Now the government has decided to put the exam on hold for one more year after the opposition from several states. Even the Supreme Court is yet to take action on holding a pan-India level single entrance test for admission to MBBS courses.

Considering the fact, CBSE has decided to continue with its All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) for filling only 15 per cent all-India quota seats as per the existing pattern. AIPMT Preliminary examination is scheduled for 1st April, 2012 and the final examination is scheduled for 13th May, 2012.

On 13th May, 2012, CBSE had announced that National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) scores will be accepted for admissions to MBBS course across the country.
